I brought some sundried tomatoes to have in my salad but I don't like them in salad, does anyone have any recipes to use them in as it's waste if I throw away a whole jar.
Thanks in advance

I agree they are kinda gross just out of the jar. They are really good cooked to add flavor to a variety of dishes, like baked fish/chicken with olives, sundried tomatoes, bit of lemon, bit of potato, lots of garlic, olive oil.. Or just add to a tomato-base pasta sauce.
They keep for ages so it's not like you have to use them up today.0 -
I am a huge fan of a simple pasta recipe including sun-dried tomatoes. I just cook whatever pasta I have in the pantry, and add sun dried tomatoes, feta cheese, and salt and pepper. The oil from the sun-dried tomatoes is enough for me so I don't add anything else, but if you would like you can add some more olive oil. Also, on occasion I'll add chopped up green olives to the mix.0

Thanks guys will add them to my normal pasta sauce I make and maybe throw some in with some fish and olives0

They're lovely sauteed with prawns, peas and chopped onions. I serve this with spaghetti or zoodles.0

You can use them in making hummus, mix them with pesto, or try chopping up a few pieces and dropping them in something like vegetable soup. My favorite recipe using them is from South Beach Diet: http://www.food.com/recipe/sun-dried-tomato-and-feta-stuffed-chicken-breasts-sbd-325859
Good luck!0 -
I love to make a simple skillet pasta with garlic, olive oil, herbs, chicken breast, and sun dried tomatoes. It also adds great flavors to paninis, casseroles, etc0

Don't buy the ones in the jar if the fluids don't work for you. It may be a bit more expensive, but I prefer to buy them dry.0

Mix them with fresh tomatoes. I made a double tomato relish it was delicious sort of like a Italian salsa. Great on burgers and sandwiches.soupspiceeverythingnice.blogspot.com/2014/07/bruschetta-turkey-burgers.html0

They're good pizza toppings0

I put them in savory whole grain dishes (savory oatmeal, farro, barley, etc.). And yes, also on pizza, yum!0

I use them in three-olive tapenade, which is super easy to make. I also enjoy them on sandwiches.0

Funny this thread should pop up today. I am preparing a recipe tonight that has sun-dried tomatoes in it. First time i am having it, so i have no idea if it is any good. MEDITERRANEAN CHICKEN MEATBALLS.It sounded so good, so i figured i would try it.0

I don't buy sundried tomatoes because I know, I'd eat the whole jar in one sitting. Odd that they are not yum, I do find that there is a great difference between brands in terms of taste and it seems to boil down to the oil that is used in preparation. I'd get some olive oil on a low heat, fresh basil, chopped and very lightly saute them - low heat being the key. Remove and allow to stand for a few minutes before topping a pizza or adding body to a salad.0

on top of grilled chicken. throw them in a skillet with some onions and sautee them really quick then spoon over a chicken breast.0

I like them cut into small bits with chicken, pesto and ravioli, plus alfredo sauce if I have enough calories.0
