    This.

If you're talking about yourself.. stats?
Height, weight, age, activity level, goal weight?

Anything less than 30lbs to lose, should be at 0.5lbs per week

It depends. On how many calories total you burn in a day, and that will depend on your gender/weight/age/height, in addition to your activity level and how much/aggressively you work out.

Personally I could not possibly burn enough calories to lose 2 pounds in a week. I'd be eating 700-800 calories and that is just not doable, safe or smart. My husband on the other hand can aim for 2 pounds a week and still eat 2000-2500 per day.

Sure, if you have a good amount to lose. It's not always the most advisable approach (I wouldn't do it now or if it made me feel deprived or run down) but I did it when I had lots to lose and am glad I did.

From your profile, I see you have 85 pounds to lose. You could probably lose 1.5-2 pounds a week for a while, eating 1500-1800. Rough approximation as I made assumptions about your activity level!

Once you lose the first 25-30 pounds, you might want to shift the goal to 1-1.5.

Sure, if you have a ton of weight to lose. If you don't, I've personally found that1lb a week is far better. The less you have to lose, the slower it'll go for many people.

I have done it for the last 90 days. Some weeks slightly more, some weeks slightly less. 33 pounds since January 1st. I exercise outside of my normal routine 3-4 times per week. And for the sake of full disclosure, my ultimate weight loss goal is 100 pounds. I had (and still have) a lot to lose, but I have been religious about tracking on MFP and am conscience of everything that I put into my mouth at all times.

This is sound advice for you, OP.
