I know Ive read a few posts on this. Reception has been aweful. Real military folks call BS, folks that have done it sound angry about it. I cant say Ive read one post that made me want to research it for myself. You can search some of the old posts too.0

Me Army----me don't eat military diet because there is no such thing. Believe it or not, trainees at basic and Advanced Individual training eat three healthy, square meals a day. Nothing fancy, just real food.0

Yeah my fiancé is in the military as well I know it's not an actual "military diet" however that's what it's called lol but ppl do seem angry0

I know for a while there back in 2012-2013 they tried serving extremely healthy stuff in Fort Gordon to curb the rise in obesity among soldiers. They eliminated fried foods such as burgers and fries. Even stopped with the Friday's steak and shrimp! Certain chow halls still served the usual stuff, but not all of them. After a while the experiment failed. Probably because it cost too much to make sweet potato fries and quiche lol0

And also because the guys quit going to the chow hall and started spending their paychecks at the burger joint in the bowling alley

Yes! You know what I'm talking about. Was sad that a lot of these kids would actually have their buddies who were on Swing shift order chinese for lunch. It got pretty bad0 -

Two words: Taco Rice
Swing and Mid shift sends a delegate with a shopping list to the 24 hour burger joint out in town. It's right outside the main gate, and if you drive by at 4 am you'll see a line at the drive thru.0 -
My coworker did. Epic fail. Basically fasting then maintence eating. It's not maintainable.0

Dumbest diet I've ever come across. There's at least one thread a day on this topic.

A friend's son did basic training last summer. Lost ~20 pounds. Not because of the 'diet' but because he was very active. Basic training isn't exactly spring break in Panama City...0

I did it. Twice. Gained the weight back both times. Shocker. No, don't do it.0

In the military... Lol I've never heard of this "military diet" thing... unless you're talking about eating at the military dining facility three times a day hahaha.0

From what I've noticed, the "military diet" consists of chow hall food, Taco Bell and alcohol.
Go for it.0 -
To be fair, one might be able to lose some weight if one decided to eat nothing but MREs. Mostly because they are reportedly completely nasty.0

My love was in the Marines for 5 years. He lost a lot of weight but only because he was treking through the desert daily and they rarely slept anywhere near a place that served food, they got to eat MREs and crap they brought along. When he was on US soil he ate fast food more often then not. He says the military diet is a bunch of BS, regardless of if it is just "called that".0

I firmly believe that someone made this diet up as a joke to see how many people they could sucker with a stupid, restrictive "diet" with bizarre food choices. To this day, they still log into Pintrest and amaze themselves.0

Oooh the bread. I gave anything for that bread. And the cookies. And the lasagna. And the penne. Oh and the chicken.
