I don't really think so. I just try to stay conscious of not eating a bunch of carbs at dinner and making sure I eat protein in the morning. Most everything I eat is "Low fat" and "Sugar free" so I don't worry too much about it.0

That depends. Would you rather your body take more time burning glucose before it gets to stored body fat or would you rather it get to the stored body fat quicker? It's up to you.0

for weight loss no, doesnt matter so much but for health you should watch your nutrients ... you could consume all your callories in carbs but your body needs protein and good fats too. Losing weight really is only part of it...no good dropping all the extra lbs if you end up losing a high % of muscle0

manually set my micros to get my carbs lower, my sugar lower, and my protein higher
really want to work on getting more protein each day where i can0 -
Count every bite! Log every workout and the goal on MFP is to meet your caloric goals daily, not to go under them. It's good you're active though, just make sure you log everything.0

Yes, it's important to keep track of all of your nutritional info. Your body needs carbs, fats, proteins, and other nutrients just as much as it needs calories. Being over or under on these things can affect your goals.0

That depends on what your goal is. If you simply want to lose weight, then calories are all you need to worry about. But if you want to be healthy you need to worry about what kind of calories you are putting in your body. Thin does not necessarily = healthy.0 -

Seconded! There's a reason it's called a balanced diet! :happy:0 -
As far as carbs and protein, not a huge difference (as long as you are getting sufficient amounts of both, most people do).
But still pay attention to your fat intake. Really, only about 30% (max) of your calories should come from fat. Not because it will affect weight gain/loss, but because it will affect things like cholesterol levels, triglycerides, digestive health, and ultimately heart and vascular system health (diets high in fat have been fairly conclusively linked to early heart disease/heart attacks, high blood pressure, stroke, etc).0 -
Of course it counts0

Strictly by the scale weight loss speaking, it shouldn't make a difference. But I do believe if you do your best to eat balanced you see will see a big difference in performance and energy. I also think it will be easier to stick to if your getting everything you need.0

What she means by "burning glucose" is "having energy". Gotta love Atkins (or whatever this month's name for it). That depends. Would you rather your body take more time burning glucose before it gets to stored body fat or would you rather it get to the stored body fat quicker? It's up to you.0
