Meal Prep!!!

Started meal prepping the last few weeks, down 8lbs!

One thing I've learned, working a lot of doubles at the hospital is making Sunday's your prep day! Breakfast lunch dinners and snacks all put together on Sunday! I've been heathy snacking every 2 hours on a cup of fruit, or a vegetable, or on some healthy nuts.

8lbs in 2 weeks and I haven't even started hitting the gym yet!

I WAS doing this so well. Need to get back to it! Thanks! AND WELL DONE!!! :)
  • I strongly advise it! Mornings I have a Greek yogurt around 8, I have a banana around 10, I eat a nice salad with a choice of meat on top (tuna, shaved steak, ground turkey) with fresh veggie toppings, and balsamic vinegar around noon, around 2 I have a cup of mixed fruit, and around 4 I have dinner, around 6 I'll have some cottage cheese, I'm normally still 300-400 calories short at the end of the night but completely full, buy a family pack of chicken and bake it with fresh seasonings, 4 oz pieces, I generally get a multi grain rice for a side one cup, and I make a vegetable for a side, even sweet potatoes are great for the liver, everything in moderation! Makes life easier! Good luck! @Tonifitz1908

You should not be falling 400 calories behind your calorie goal when your calorie goal is already a built-in deficit....

Meal prepping does not work for me. I do much better eating however I please on the day at that specific hour. Meal prepping doesn't cause weight loss, calorie deficit causes weight loss, and meal prepping is not a good way for me to reach a deficit. Too restrictive, too regimented.

I agree with that if you're set at a 2 lb loss per week, but if you're set for .5 lbs loss per week then it's probably okay. (That's the route I went, didn't want to restrict my calories too low on days I didn't work out)

  • Meal prep is the only way I can maintain! Tuesday I go from 7am to 10 pm with time just to get where I need to be. If I didn't prep I would be sluggish and eat poorly!

I've also found entering in my meals the night before makes it less mundane :)
