first day here, my goal is to gain 30 pounds in two months. im quite skinny and could use any tips on how to reach my goal, thanks and the best to the rest of you

    I could say Im an expert at gaining weight, but not the healthy way, and you don't want my techniques for that. (lol). However, I have had some very skinny friends with the same issues. One thing I know that a friend of mine found success in, was adding Ensure to her diet. She drank those shakes in between meals. I am sure that there will beothers with great advice for you. Not everyone on here is trying to lose weight, so the MFP group wont let you down!

    the maximum recommended weight change (loss or gain) is 1-2 lbs / week.

    In that respect 8 weeks would be 8-16lbs max.

    Since 1lb is 3500 calories, you'll need to eat an additinoal 3500 / week for a 1lb gain.

    Your goals however are set for 4x that as you're shooting for 4lbs/week gain.

    That means, you'll need 14000 extra calories per week or 2000/day...ON TOP of your daily requirements for two solid months.

    You could do that if you wanted to eat junk all the time...but even that would be a stretch.

    While I would assume you're looking to build muscle and not simply get fat...it takes alot more than ingesting a ton of extra calories to gain healthy lean mass...same as it takes more than a reduction of calories to lose fat mass.
