I know for the most part its not really going to matter just looking for people's opinions, Doing 30 min of each per day and wondering which way around it will be most effective?

It doesn't matter ...why would it make a difference?

Practically I would've thought run then swim just because of I'm dry now I'm wet now I'm dry aspect

    Most effective for what?

General rule is to do the one that matters most, first.

Seriously, swimming is such a pain in terms of showering etc. You'd have to shower again after running. There is basically no circumstance in which this (swim then run) would be something I"d do.

I would run then swim for two reasons: 1) swimming first in my experience wipes me out for my run, and 2) try getting your bra on when you're wet. Ugh.

I don't know that it really makes a difference beyond starting with whichever event you want to see more progress in so that you'll have more energy.

Personally, my thought process would be that, if I'm possibly going to find myself fatigued and unable to go on, if that happens on a running trail, I can sit down. If it happens in a pool, the need to still keep my head above water is somewhat more obnoxious. So I'd probably swim first, take a quick shower or simply dry off, then run and take a real shower after that.

My kids (both swimmers) usually run then swim if they are just training for fun on an off day. The running does tire the legs, but swimming is usually more arms than legs unless you are doing kick with a kick board. Plus it works out better for showering, with a quick rinse after running before getting in the pool then a good shower after.

OP unless you're training for a triathlon and are working on mental prep as well as physical it doesn't matter (swimming after a run seems quite practical in terms of showering etc.....)

I always swim before my run... I don't know if there is anything to that to be honest. I always grab the bike last, it allows me to burn off anything I have left in the legs!

I would do the swim first as it will warm all your muscles up before running, and wont be as hard on your joints. Then obviously do a cool down. Which you could then hop back in the pool and cool down with a few slow laps.
    But is personal preference really.

I get sweaty working out and perfer a nice dip in the pool to cool down before showering, which I don't have time to do twice. B)

Yeah - it also kinda helps you avoid the drowning thing if you do your swimming in open water.
