I want to bake with them. My choices are either:
1) Protein banana bread with chunks dispersed throughout
2) (maybe protein) PB cookies with pieces of the cups smooshed into the centers. Eta this is the inspiration:
SERIOUSLY CANNOT CHOOSE.

This is insanity. The proper way to bake with a Reese's cup is to eat it while sliding a pizza into the oven.0

Banana bread!!! What an awesome combo. Plus I prefer using protein in bread when baking.0

1) Get baked
2) Eat Reese's Cups0 -
Honestly whenever I add protein to a baked good I just plop some in and add a tiny bit of extra liquid. I usually take a standard recipe, replace the flour with oat flour, reduce it and add in lots of protein powder. I'll also reduce the oil (almost all) and add a little applesauce, or more banana!
I have a yummy vanilla protein, using that with super ripe bananas comes out sweet enough usually.0 -

How many do you have? Is this for nust you or are you sharing the result with others somewhere?
I'd try both if you have enough. If only enough for one and you aren't sharing the product then I'd choose the banana bread this time. If you plan to take them to a gathering or something I'd do the cookies.

Just for me lol.
And not enough for both, just one. I've done banana bread with them before though and it is delicious.0 -

I'll have to try that! About how much extra liquid would you say you add, like a few tbsp, cups, etc? Maybe this is why I haven't liked what I've tried, they are like "healthy" recipes. PFt.0 -
Oh yea. I used to do healthhy recipes and they were always a little gross haha. I realized it is way better to make normal recipes healthier instead. If I'm super lazy I buy boxes mixes, sub a the ingredients, add oatmeal, protein powder and some type of liquid and voila!! Tastes better than anything I could have made!
For a first try making a recipe here's what I would do. Find a basic banana bread recipe. I would sub only half the fat, max 2/3 (1/2-2/3 the oil for applesauce, etc) Go minimal bc you are changing the flour too. Do 1/3 of the flour for protein powder. Unfortunately this will vary widely bc of different brands and types of protein. An extra Tablespoon of oil or applesauce will usually do the trick.
If you bake often you can probably gauge the texture well. This is why i like baking breads, the texture is more forgiving than other baked goods. Breads should be "goopy". Thick enough to stick to the spoon but not thick like dough. If it looks dry, add an extra Tablespoon at a time of liquid. If it looks soupy, I add whole oats 1/2 cup at a time. It really is an art and takes some experimentation.
Good luck!! I gotta get better about making recipes!0 -
Fingers crossed it comes out tasty once I make it!0
