A friend of mine asked me to do a half marathon with her this year... and I said yes! I've never ran in a race before, although I run on my own for fun. Excited and marginally terrified.

Looking for buddies to help me stay motivated to cross my weight and distance finish lines!

My first HM is in a couple of months time. Do you have a training plan? I'm using one from http://www.walkjogrun.net, as I'd not have a clue how to approach such a distance otherwise. I was at the 13K endurance stage yesterday and it was hard, but good to complete. Good luck!

I don't yet but I need to find one! Is it sad that I'm dissuaded from all the ones I've seen because the require working out 5 days a week? Lol

Anyway the HM I have my eyes on is not until late October so I have a little time to mull things over. Sort of...

Feel free to add me. I am training for a half marathon that's in September. It has been a couple years since I have run one, but excited to run another one.

There are tons of different training plans. I am trying a new one, https://my.asics.com. After getting an email from Runkeeper I checked it out. I like how you can customize your training plan based on what works for you. Not a cookie cutter training plan.

I'm in the same boat. Got another one on May 31st and haven't run one since 2013.

Prepare to be hooked! They are insanely fun and a great experience!

Check out "Couch to 5K" and then build on from there. You'll do great!

Currently training for a 10K and I use the "My ASICS" training plan ---> http://www.asics.com.au/about-myasics . You can choose a half-marathon plan if you so wish and you decide how many times/week you want to train.

Doing my first HM in August. It got some hills, so am gonna try to incorporate some travel to hills or treadmill incline sessions as part of the plan. I found a 20 Week plan that looked pretty good. Not sure where I found it.
