Calories of weight training!!

The app simply calculate the cardio exercises, but what about the weight training ? How can i know that im eating the right amount of calories and not losing any muscles ?

It just has "-" next to the exercises. It doesn't actually tell you the calories at all0

You can add "strength training" under cardio. The truth is mfp doesn't know how hard you lift weights/how much rest between sets/etc in order to estimate. Eating in a calorie deficit WILL make you lose some muscle. I focus on making sure I get enough protein. Reading about metabolic damage (check out Layne Norton on YouTube) helped me understand the importance of knowing how many calories I need to maintain and then cutting back by a few hundred to lose weight.0

I use a heart rate monitor for any exercise and just log it under an exercise i make ... its helped.me ive been lossing weight and getting stronger .. just depends on what yiur comfortable with doing0

HRMs are useless for calculating burns from anaerobic activities like lifting or yoga. There simply is not a direct relationship between how much a heart rate elevates and energy expenditure for those exercises.0
