I've been struggling with this for a year now. I moved to a different province and since the move a year ago I haven't been to the gym and have been finding it hard to find motivation. :(

It helps if you understand why you are doing it and how it helps.
    Diet starts in the kitchen.
If you dont want to gym , find something you like or just move more generally.

If you go to the gym, then know what you are going to do when you get there i.e go prepared.
    Pack your bag vefore.
    Maybe do a class.
If you are anxious then go at a quiet time.
If you cna affod it then maybe a PT or do some research so you know what your workout will be.

Losing weight is straightforward once you understand why you are doing it and how. That is your motivation. Being prepared and then commiting to do what it takes because you know why you want to lose the weight is key.
Take it one step and one day at a time, but I find it easier to just get on with it.

ps nobody cares about you at the gym, they are just interested in doing their own thing. If you dont start you will never finish and is that really an option?
