Do you mean calorie deficit? Are you over already for today? What are you waiting until tomorrow for?

diets are a good way to fail. they are designed to restrict you. Unless that restriction is something you are willing to have last a lifetime, youd probably be better off to count calories and stay within your daily goals.

regardless, best of luck to you! It's so easy its hard! (30 pounds and counting, here!)

Don't start a "diet", start a new lifestyle instead.

Weight loss diets are temporary, a lifestyle change is permanent.

Um... No matter how you slice it, it is still a diet. The first definition of diet is: the kinds of food that a person, animal, or community which we eat. The second definition is: a special course of food to which one restricts oneself either to lose weight or for medical reasons. If you are counting calories and creating a calorie deficit, then it is a restriction… However, it is better to count calories than to go on a fad diet, for sure. Counting calories is a great idea, even when maintaining weight. Once you no longer have the calorie deficit, it is still considered a diet by the first definition… Diet = food you eat!!! We shouldn't make it a dirty word.

I agree! I've never understood the whole 'it's not a diet' thing. Of course it is. I'm not going to carry on eating 1200 calories for the rest of my life, I will go into maintenance eventually. Part of it is a lifestyle change, yes. Learning how much you should be eating is a lifestyle change. Eating few enough calories to lose weight is a temporary diet before you go into maintenance.
