Hi, I've just started and I'm already way, way past my calorie consumption for the whole day and this is only breakfast. I'm not sure why I'm doing this to myself, but hopefully through all of you I will find the motivation going forward.

  • Hey Sandy! When we know better we do better. Focus on small goals, cut back each meal a little and overtime your body will realize you don't need as much as you think you do to feel satisfied. I would suggest having a distracting task to do right after you eat, this way you won't be fixated on wanting more. You will get there!! Don't lose the Faith!!

Good luck! The first step is realizing the negative patterns that got you here. I was eating way more than I needed too. The first week was the hardest for me; almost like 'resetting' my brain and what hunger really meant.

Greetings. It's not gonna be easy. No one said it would be. You have to say "Enough" and make the commitment. Maybe look for OA meetings in your area and attend. Good luck.

Don't be too hard on yourself or expect perfection right out of the gate. It really helped me to take small steps and know that even a small change (like logging all my food but still going over calories) was better than what I had been doing (which was nothing).

Set a small goal like that and it'll give you the motivation to keep going, even when you're feeling overwhelmed. You can totally do it. :)
