I feel so embarrassed at the gym because i sweat like crazy! I only have 23% body fat. Is it normal to sweat that much ?

I do a lot of cycle classes and I'd say 1/2 the class has a pool of sweat under their bikes (myself included) so I'd say it's normal if you're working hard. Personally, if I'm not sweating, I'm not working hard enough.0

I'm a total head sweater. It's like every sweat gland in my body is on my head. After 20 minutes of intense cardio my head is like raining. I'm proud of it. I just think to myself that it's just showing how hard I work out. When I see people leaving the gym and they aren't sweaty it is just weird to me.0

I'm the same. Since I walk to the gym, I am sweaty about 1 minute into my workout. I also sweat a lot from my back (yet my armpits will be perfectly dry) so my back is soaked by the time I'm done and I look like I might as well have jumped into the pool lol. I figure it's a gym and if others think I'm gross for sweating, they shouldn't be in a gym!0

Hey, those sweat patches are badges of honour. They mean you worked hard. I'm super proud when my shirt is manky looking.0

I'm a head and chest sweater, sweat literally flies off of my head when I'm working out.0

sweating is totally genetic and normal whether you sweat a lot or a little. I personally am a big time sweater, mostly from my head so it drips all over the place. I do know that if you drink or smoke marijuana you will sweat more as your body is trying to get all of it out of your system. My trainer told me that one and I never forgot it0

I feel embarassed when I am at the gym and I am not sweating!
In all seriousness though, as long as you don't like fling you sweat at people don't worry about it. Take a towel with you if you want so you can wipe it off, clean up the equipment when your done, and relish in the fact that you look like a badass who put in a really great workout.0 -
Sweating when I'm working out is totally fine, but I'm someone who struggles with sweat on a normal day. Like, walking across campus to class? Gonna have massive sweat stains. I hate it. I found a deodorant spray called OdaBan that helps me with that, but if you're only sweating heavily when you're actually working out then I wouldn't worry about it!0

I can't think of a more appropriate place to sweat like a pig than a gym. I don't know why you would feel embarrassed. Not like you are dripping all over a co-worker or over produce at the grocery store.0

Good you are half way there! Hey I sweat a ton as well. It just means we work hard. I can almost squeeze out my shirt.
On a more serious note, have you ever tried weighing yourself before and after with the clothes removed to see how much water you have lost?
You may be surprised at the amount. In the very least it would be a good indicator as to the MINIMUM amount you need to take back in as replenishment.
