HRM Do you deduct calories burned?

I was wondering what everyone does with their total calories burned.
I mean when I do my boot camp class i minus about 75-100 calories from what my HRM shows at the end of class as i would have burned that many calories anyways if i just sat around doing nothing for that hour.

Do you think that is the right thing to do or do you just input the total your HRM shows without deducting anything?

    I input the whole amount, with no deduction. I figure I earned it. :bigsmile:

    I also input the whole amount. I deducted for a while but my body didn't appreciate that! It's much happier now that I count all the calories burned and eat all of them back.

    I deduct mine---just to be true to myself. I figured I am measuring everything I eat, I might as well be true for what I burn too.

    I only input about half of mine because my HRM shows me a ludicrous amount of calories burned from bicycling 22 miles per day. Maybe it is right, but there is no way I am going to eat back that many calories and it hasn't negatively impacted my weight loss so far.

    I always deduct what I would have burned just sitting around. Otherwise, you'd be counting those calories twice. An easy way to figure it out is to divide your allowed calories on MFP by 1440 (number of minutes in a day) and you will find out how many calories your are "supposed" to have per minute. Then multiply that number by your minutes exercised. That is the number you would have burned.

    For example,

    I get 1770 calories per day. I divide that by 1440 (1770/1440) and I get 1.2.

    Today I worked out for 62 minutes so I multiply 62*1.2 and I get 74.

    I subtract 74 from the number my HRM showed for calories burned. Kinda complicated but I'd rather do that than go over on my calories. :happy:

    I do, well did.
    Now, when I'm done I stop that work out, then start a new log and do a cool down for however long it takes to burn the calories I'd have to subtract along with the amount of minutes I'm doing my cool down.

    ok i think i will keep deducting - safer that way i guess.
