So, I am going to see some olf college friends on Memorial Day. I am so nervous! we havent seen each other since i started eating right and exercising. they are already talking about going out and getting margaritas and eating pasta, and going to Chili's...eek! I don't think I have the will power to say no to all this stuff when I am with thm. For 4 years our relationships were around food and I am going back to that now! Also, i probably won't be able to work out...ugh..this new lifestyle is making my suppose to be fun trip a nightmare! Any advice MFP peeps?

  • Still go and see your friends! If you are going to Chilis get the Guiltless Chicken platter! Go ahead and have a light beer or two. Treat yourself for all your hard work! Be happy and proud of your diet and weight loss! Your friends will understand!

When I find myself in your situation, I usually don't deny myself anything, but I try to stay within reasonable limits. Everything in moderation. If we go out to eat and I get a plate full of pasta, I'll eat half and take the rest in a doggie bag. Or, if everyone is drinking, I might let myself have one of my favorite drinks (something super girly and high calorie of course), but then I stick to vodka with diet sprite or something. Getting in a few extra workouts (even if it's only like 10 minutes here and there) before Memorial Day couldn't hurt either. Even if you do slip up, don't beat yourself up over it - enjoy your time with your friends and when you get back, just tell yourself it's a new day and start fresh!

do your best to eat healthy, but enjoy yourself!!! Indulge, but don't overdo. Suggest to walk places that aren't far, and take stairs.
