2 weeks before? I doubt it has anything to do with your period. Poor Tom. He gets blamed for everything...0

I do!! I can definitely relate! PMS hits me about exactly 2 weeks before, headaches, moody, tired, cravings, no energy! Then TOM makes it here and I feel so much better. I've often wondered if there are any natural remedies to help these symptoms, but so far I just deal with it. I feel bad for my poor hubby LOL0

What pill is it? I'm on Yasmin, and I get PMS about a week and a half before my period, without fail. Great pill, as it has none of the side-effects of others, but the PMS thing is weird. Maybe it's just me...0

It is nice to hear that I'm not the only one either! My weight fluctuates up and down also during that time. I don't take the pill anymore though, I get migraines and the pill only made them worse. Now my headaches aren't near as bad but I have the stupid hormones to deal with that seem to get worse each year. Maybe once your body gets used to your new pill it will even out a bit and not be so bad!0 -
I def can understand the bloating feeling 2 weeks prior. I thought i was just crazy. Good to know there are others out there lol. I also notice if you push through it and workout that pms symptoms fade away for me0

I'm not on BC but I always get ALL my symptoms 2 weeks before. Sore boobs, cramps, backache, acne, moody. All of it.0

Sounds like you are probably getting all those symptoms because you are ovulating!0

Well my dear, you have a fellow sufferer here. Just last week I was telling my co-worker that every 2 weeks I seem to go thru the same thing. Here goes mine (sorry if its TMI for others):
2 weeks after a period I start having a heavy feeling in my belly....more so on my left side...guess its ovulation. Then about a week after I start having breast tenderness (my sister was the first to point out this relationship with my period every month to me years ago...I didn't put them together myself but now I see it... she knows me almost as well as I know myself...lol). Then comes the headaches...goodness these are the worst headaches I have ever felt in my life. Usually it starts like in the middle of my forehead but then it goes to my eye mainly the right one and there it stays. Its a pain I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy and I have even been known to wear an eye patch at this time just to keep the light out and rest the eye, much to the amusement of my family...lol. Now the strange thing is that I have never had abdominal cramps related to a period in my life so I guess this is my menstrual cramps. The running joke is that my womb is in my right eye...lol. My eye doctor has found nothing wrong and has suggested that with my hormones and its effects I may actually have menstrual migraine.
The fluid retention is the absolutes pits. I go up so much on the scale that its depressing, and yet I still cant bring myself to stop going on it multiple times throughout the day. My doctor says its down to hormones again and I should watch my sodium intake at this time as well. Once it was so bad that I begged him and got a diuretic just for some relief. I mean it can be so bad where my shoes are tight.
Guess everybody is different and most times I would say I wished I had the cramps instead but my sisters always tell me I wouldn't like those either so I guess I just have to bear that which I have been dealt. But its so frustrating when you are trying to lose weight and it seems like you only have a good 1 (at most 2) weeks before you have to start from scratch again. I definitely cant slack up on my exercise even when I dont want to do it because if I continue it, after the swelling goes down, I may be lucky to see a loss. I am thankful for my 8lbs so far cause if only people knew what a struggle that has been to achieve....Guys have it so good.0 -
Wouldn't it go away at some point though during the two weeks if it was ovulation?0

I feel your pain. I feel so sluggish and run down and bloated for at LEAST 2 weeks before TOM comes a callin. I also swell up and gain about 5 pounds of water weight. It really sucks!0

Ugh! Sucks to be you! Seriously... PARAGUARD IUD (NO hormones) best thing ever! I've yet to meet someone on hormonal BC that doesn't struggle with weight. Ladies, do not f@$k with your hormones, please?
I did get a script for spironolactone recently (off-label treatment for hormonally sensitive acne) that is actually a water pill. REALLY helps with Tom bloat in addition to preventing breakouts.
Oh, and you SHOULD NOT be ovulating (or experiencing symptoms) on the pill. Kinda a bummer, ovulation holds a host of benefits to your appearance; dewy clear skin, fuller flushed lips, pheromones that secretly scream "make babies with me!", a sexier more feminine voice, not to mention you'll actually know what you're doing MHC-wise when it comes to picking a partner... why would you want to supress this unless you had no other choice? Yes, I get it, Paraguard isn't for everyone and some ladies natural hormones are so FUBAR they need chemical interference, BUT, if you can get off hormonal BC - please do.0 -

a monophasic pill (same dose/color every day) instead of a tri-phasic one (different colors each week) can ease these symptoms. I had a lot of trouble on Tri-cyclen, and when I switched to Levora (aka Levlen) it all got much better.0

Unfortunately my insurance won't cover any IUD....I just had a baby 5 months ago and DO NOT want another anytime soon.....so BCP is what I need to take!
I believe Planned Parenthood offers the cheapest option then; they base it on a sliding scale depending on your income. Some pay as little as $300-$400. I know a private practitioner can get up anywhere between $600-$1200 including insertion. I do believe to official website has assistance options as well.
DEFINITELY worth the cost if you're looking at 4+ years before your next baby (mine are 10, 6, & 14 months; military covered each time) or if you think you are done but don't want something permanent.0
