i've seen a lot of girls wearing waist trainers on instagram but i was just wondering if they actually work to help tighten and give you curves in the right places and a girl that has been to my gym had saran wrap wrapped around her tummy. Thanks!

Don't bother. It's incredibly vain!!!
Unless you want to rearrange your innards and organs.... Because that's about the only thing these contraptions do Sorry to be blunt, but these types of things are sucking in too many young people who actually believe the likes of kim kardashian and the the like...0 -

I have a waist cincher I got pretty cheap at Kohl's, but I don't use it very much. Like any other shape wear, it's not necessarily meant for extended wear, and it isn't a solution to losing weight or anything like that. I wear mine just when I'd like a little extra va-va-voom when wearing certain dresses or tops.
The saran-wrapping will really only rid you of water weight (that will come right back when you rehydrate), and will not result in fat loss.0 -

My ex used to make me wrap his belly and legs with glad wrap before he exercised. Stupid huh? He believed everything he read too....0

This is what the rubber 'waist-trainers' do.

Every day, one of these waist trainer questions. I'm bemused. I don't see how it would work at all.0

Can't be good for the organs that are getting squished!0

DONT DO IT. I have seen so many of my friends spend TONS of money on these things and they only provide temporary results. Not to mention that the human body wasn't made to be re-arranged by products like this. It's not worth the risks compared to the "rewards" They don't work long term and even short term it is temporary. Only use them under your clothes if you are going out and want some extra shape. Otherwise don't bother.0

The best waist trainers are a calorie deficiency combined with weight training.0

The fact that the Kardashians seem obsessed with these should be a red flag...0

Don't do it! This is just another quick fix. Once you stop wearing it, you will gain it all back. Plus if you don't wear it correctly, you could damage your body.0 -
Stupid, dumb, waste of money.0

What a waste of money. No.0

what are your thoughts on waist trainers?
They make for excellent moron-detectors.0 -
Aren't these just girdles? Sure wear them under your clothes if you want to hide some "rolls" on any given day but all you're doing is hiding fat, you're not getting rid of it just by wearing a tight uncomfortable garment. It makes about as much sense as wearing smaller shoes to shrink you're feet. It doesn't work that way.0

Haha thanks guys! I know that i will not be purchasing them no more!0

When ever I see waist trainer I think, "Gee, isn't that an awfully specialized PT? Do they have arm trainers and leg trainers too? "0

While I never wore them for weight loss, I did wear a few corsets for fashion back in my 20s. I'll tell you exactly how they work. They compress your digestive system so hard that you can't eat too much or else you either throw up or it causes you what feels like severe gas pains.
I learned very quickly not to lace too tight!
I only wore them going out, so a few hours once a week. I liked the shape but only for the short term!0
