    There were no computers or cell phones.
    No 911 or 411.
    We looked in Encyclopedias and Dictionaries for information. We didn't Google it.
    We sat at the dinner table for meals and shared what happened during the day.
    We didn't tweet, twitter, instragram or selfie every inconsequential thing that happens during the day.
    There were 3 channels on TV and still more interesting things to watch than now.
    No reality TV.
    It was free to enter Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm. You only had to pay for rides.
    Great Cartoons. Bugs Bunny, Road Runner, Yosemite Sam, Porky Pig.
    No daycare. Every parent in the neighborhood looked out for everyone's kids.
    Tarzan. The Three Stooges. Abbot and Costello.

    My mom and her three friends sitting around our dining room table, smoking and drinking tea from a lovely tea set with flowers on it! Always laughing, and talking, sometimes reading out loud from magazines and taking quizzes. They'd sometimes pull us up onto their laps (my sisters and I), brush our hair, braid it over and over, share their tea. Best memory!
