I've been using the mobile app for about a week now but have had very little luck. I have over 100lbs to lose and it is easy to get discouraged at times. Unfortunately I am currently living with my sister since I am going through a rather nasty divorce. It seems like I would have a good support system as a result of that but since she needs to lose weight too but is to lazy to do it she is determined to do everything she can to sabotage my goals. I can't afford to buy special food just for me to help with my calorie intake and so I am stuck eating what she does which is always high calorie. Since I have no support on the home front I would love to try to establish a support system here. Feel free to friend me if you would like and I look forward to making some new friends here. :)

Well, Sounds like you need to just get really creative. Hard position to be in, but you can do it. You might want to list some of the types of foods your faced with so you an get some suggestions of how to work around it. There are so many on here that are losing just like you want to, and you will get a lot of support. Good luck!

that's a drag, that she wants to sabotage you. She just doesn't want you to get thin, and her not be. How come you cant buy your own food? Are funds limited?

This is going to be quite a challenge for you but you can do it. Think positive and stay active to burn those extra calories. My friends try to sabotage me by offering unhealthy things to me. However, I resisted. I even offered to buy them a salad. =]

Hey there - I sent you a private message and friend request.

You can get through this - baby steps to start with - gotta just figure out the portions, and which of the foods are best. I've been there - limited funds, living with someone else who eats whatever whenever, and that person supplies the food...

    And water, water, water.

Good choice for food doesn't have to be expensive. Some of the thing you could keep on hand would be bananas, apples, carrots, nuts (almonds, peanuts), and popcorn (air popped), and lowfat / low cal soups. Why don't you try talkiing to your sister - tell her how you feel about her lack of support for your weight loss and ask her for her help. Only you can control what you eat - so don't use her as an excuse - If your determined to do this, find creative ways (aka - cooking for yourself) to start your new lifestyle.

You don't have to buy special food. It's not that expensive to eat well. I buy groceries at Wal-Mart. Fresh vegetables, black beans in the can, frozen vegetables, whole wheat pastas, ground turkey, bags of chicken breasts. The most expensive thing I splurge on is egg whites because I'm too busy to separate real eggs each morning.

You have to commit that this is for you. Don't let excuses or others ruin this for you. Be selfish. This is your time. Focus on you and not on the external. Own it! :)

Also, use coupons. You can print them for free online from coupon sites. Get a water bottle and filter your own water. Walking is free! Dancing in your room even more fun! :)

Start small, set little goals... lead your sister by example. She'll buy in when she sees your changes.

Sorry to hear about your situation. You will find lots of support on here and hopefully the motivation you need to succeed! Is it possible to make low fat, low cal versions of the food she eats? I agree a list of food you normally eat would be a great help

She typically buys lots of pasta, mashed potatoes, French fries, and things like that. Even the things that could be eaten in a healthy way are cooked in the most fattening way possible (usually fried in plenty of grease and butter). Plenty of salt and butter. I try to eat plenty of vegetables but it is difficult on days I'm not the one cooking. I try to cook some so I can make some of the stuff a bit healthier but I don't get to often since her boyfriend won't eat my cooking since I refuse to coat it in salt.

When I split with my ex he took the vehicles and wiped our bank accounts out. I am looking for a job but being in a small town makes it difficult so I have no money coming in so I can't afford to buy my own food.

I am trying to find ways to stay active including teaching my pups to walk on a leash so they can start going on walks since I know once they are used to daily walks I will be less likely to let them down and skip a day. I'm determined to make this work so I am confident I will be able to. Some days it just gets overwhelming and I could really use the extra support to keep from getting to discouraged. Thanks for all the support. :)

    you can do it!!!!!!

I hope you have a lawyer!!!!!

maybe since she has everything high fat you might be able to do a low carb diet...that might be easier in your current situation!

    GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!
