For the past 7 days I have been battling the flu and lost 3lbs. I know most of that is water weight but is there a way to keep it off by eating healthy and exercising?

Yes, that's the only way to keep weight loss.
If part of the weight you've lost is dehydration, it will come back as soon as you're able to drink normally.
OTOH, some people fluctuate 3 lb from day to day. Just pay attention to the long-term trend.
    Hope you feel better soon.

I was sick for a week last week. I lost 3 pounds also in that week. I gained it right back once I started eating regularly. I'm pretty sure mine was partly from being dehydrated. Plus, I also hadn't been able to eat hardly anything. Usually you gain the weight back once you start eating normally again.

Much of it was water weight. It's possible some wasn't.

Only way to find out is to go back to your routine (slowly if needed) and see what happens!

For what it's worth - when I was sick last and didn't eat too much, I lost about the same amount. 2lbs came back. 1 didn't.

You might see a biggish jump back up, too (that is, 3lbs and then some) - DON'T worry about it! It's your body acclimating to having proper nourishment again.

Give yourself at least a week or two to get back to "normal" and then you'll know how much is gonna stay gone.

    If it's dehydration, you'll probably see a slight bump-up.

Don't let that deter you. It won't really be any different than if you hadn't been sick, and had still been staying within your macros goal. Right? Just feel better, take care of yourself and stay on-plan. :)

Same as above posters...I had it for 4 days, lost 5 lbs. Came back as soon as 8 was able to start keeping stuff in. :/

But, just jumped back to the track and will be back there in no time :)
