Hi guys,

in the last 5 days the scale hasn't moved at all. I do know if it's to be considered a plateau yet...I am not doing anything different (I guess) from the things I have done so far the made me lose 23lbs steadily....My details:

- Diary is open
- Sometimes water is not logged but I do drink 10 cups a day at least
- MFP goal is 1900 cals but I never get to that...usually 1700
- Office job, so sedentary life but lot of walking as I live in NY
- I am completing my second week of Stronglifts 5x5 (3 times a week) always followed by 20-25 mins of cardio....

Do you think I should do something different provided that this is a plateau.......I understand it might not be yet....but a light sense of frustration is starting to make its way in my head..:)

thank you

Yes I do... Get off the scale. Weigh once per week. Understand weight loss is not linear, fluctations will happen. If no loss in 30 days then suspect a plateau.

Give it 4-6 weeks. Strong lifts = muscles retaining water. Though I don't suspect that you'll need to wait the 4+ weeks to SEE a further drop, having that as a general rule is good though.

A plateau is minimum 4-6 weeks. What you're experiencing is normal. If it gets to that point, then you'll need to reevaluate your logging accuracy.

6 weeks. 5 day is just impatience. Manage your expectations and make them realistic.

Generally a plateau is considered to be 4-6 weeks with no change in weight OR measurements. A week is normal fluctuation. 2-3 weeks is a stall.

ETA: any time weight has stalled for 2 weeks or more, check your weighing, measuring, and logging and tighten up if necessary. Otherwise, just be patient. the body does weird things at times.

5 days is a stall. Keep doing what you're doing and it will come.

Lol. As the other poster said, plateau is defined by weight *and* measurements. Measure yourself now and if neither has changed in 4-6 weeks, you've hit a plateau.

That said, when was the last time you adjusted your MFP goal? As you get lighter, you need fewer calories. I usually adjust mine every 2-3 kg of weight loss. If I was eating now what I was eating when I started losing weight, I would only be about 100 cal in deficit.

i mean how do you do that? I checked and the numbers change only if you change your final goal number which I don't need to do I guess... so how do you adjust it?

Go to your goals, and re-enter your current weight, even if it is currently correct. Don't do this in the progress section, for some reason it doesn't update the calorie goal when you update it there.
