Weigh Ins

I'm one of those people who weighs myself every day and even multiple times a day. No biggie. I don't freak out if it fluctuates from morning to night. My real issue is this. When the rest of you "weigh in" what time of the day do you do it? For instance, last week I weighed in at 206 lbs. This morning, I was down to 204.5. I did not put that weight in even though it is my weigh in day because this evening the scale said 207. I know I didn't gain a pound overall, but I never update my weight on MFP unless my weight is the same number both morning and night and usually for a couple of days in a row. Maybe I just don't want to be disappointed the next day if it wasn't really as low as I thought??

I'd suggest just checking it once a week or just log it once a week.

I usually weigh myself in the morning :)

If you still feel the need to weigh yourself everyday just choose to log it once a week at a certain time so it's the same as your last weigh in :)

I weigh in every Monday AM right when I get up. But I do weigh in a lot during the week. I don't know why, maybe just to keep myself in line. I only record on mfp if I lose weight.

I weigh myself throughout the week, before and after workouts but I pick one specific day (Thursdays) as my official weigh in. I do it naked first thing in the morning. Pick one day and do it then, always in the mornings. As the day goes on you are actually weighing all the food you have consumed plus any water you have taken in for the day. Your actual weight is in the early morning before consuming any food.

I weigh in in the morning everyday. Never at night. Always first thing before food and getting dressed.

I always weigh in first thing in the AM...your AM and PM numbers will look different because of the weight of your food, etc...I sometimes feel the need to weigh myself multiple times (still haven't broken that habit) but I only log my weight once or twice a week. Hope this helps!

I do this exact same thing. I find weighing in every morning keeps me honest.

Weigh in the morning when you are not full of food and water! Personally, if I have a significant loss, I log it. I weigh myself every day as well. For instance if my last logged weight was 201.4 and I step on the scale and I weigh 200.00, I log it no matter what day it is!

I know a lot of people only log their weight loss weekly, but my method is not quite so organized. I just get too excited!

I only consider it a weigh in once a week, but I have a habit of weighing daily.

I am a scale freak and weigh myself twice a day. First time before breakfast and second time when I come back from work. It is probably a ritual that confirms to me that I am doing something about my weight. Every time I see a different third digit, it feels so good.

Don’t worry if your weight fluctuates. As long as your long term trend is right, you are good.

I do my official weigh ins in the morning. :-) It's all your preference, just be consistent.

You asked, my situation is a little different right now. I work out twice a day. Cardo in the morning and weights in the afternoon. So I weigh myself in the mid morning (excuse me, sorry but after I go to the rest room, you get the idea) which is generally after the cardio workout and right before I eat.

I don't want any waste to be in my body and it's the purest my will be all day. (You asked and I tried my best to not be offensive)

I was weighing myself any given day of the week...but I've decided to pick Fridays as my official weigh-in day....I always weigh myself first thing in the morning after bathroom break and no food/water/clothes yet :)

I am always about 2-3 pounds heavier in the evening than I am when I wake up in the morning. It's fairly consistent for me. It makes sense because throughout the day you consume food and water - that adds up! In the morning your body has processed a fair bit of that (and you pee out a lot of it in the morning).

So, if you can, it might be a good call to just weigh in the morning, first thing (after you go to the bathroom), and for most accuracy, without clothes.

I try to only weigh myself once a week on a Monday first thing before eating or drinking, I do this every week because whatever the weight change is should be accurate compared to the previous week. I also then look forward to the result

This is actually the correct way to do it because it is the most accurate reading you will have of your true weight all day. Once you begin to eat, the food and waste product will add more weight to your body that will eventually go away, and therefore, technically doesn't count.

I weigh throughout each day. I like to weigh after I drink a lot of fluid or right before and after ridding of a lot of fluid. I love numbers!

I compare my morning numbers, though. I get up, weigh myself, undress, pee, weigh myself. Its silly but I love getting on the scale and seeing how fickle the number can be. I think it helps take its power away.

Anyway, I track the naked post-urination number. While I don't care about this "true weight" stuff it is generally the most stable number. Right now I track it every time it changes. I'm paying a lot of attention to the graphs, otherwise I'd just track it once a week.

From the looks of things I'm a little different. I weigh in Wednesday evennings (about 6pm). I also belong to a TOPS group and that's our meeting and weigh-in day so I use that as an my official weight. I do occassionally weigh myself at home, but the weight I consider myself to be at is my TOPS weigh in weight. For me consistency is the key. So every Wednesday evening it is.

WhAtever you do, make sure you log your weight consistently. If you have always logged your night weight then log the night time weight. I it has always been you have logged your morning weight then only log the morning weight. Don't mix the two or you are going to be really confused
