Anyone have success with using muscle tape for strains? I have a pulled calf muscle from falling down stairs. I typically run 4.5 miles 3-4 times a week and I can't get past 1.5 miles without it causing me so much pain I can hardly walk back to my car. It will feel good prior to my run then I guess the impact is just to much. Thanks.

A couple years ago I had Achilles tendon issues, causing me to pull all of my calf muscles at once, OUCH! I remember getting taped for it, and it helping some.

The best advice I can give you though is to heat/stretch it before your runs and ice it after.

The tape might help some, but more importantly you should allow it to heal rather than pushing it

    Hope it feels better soon!

Just chiming in to say that doing activities that cause pain delays healing. Best treatment for partial calf tears (="strains") is to keep the foot dorsiflexed (toe up) as often as possible, perhaps with the use of a "night splint" while sitting & sleeping.
Avoid uphill runs while it's healing (downhill is ok).

Of course, your doctor's advice takes priority over all of our's.
