Hi all,
I joined MFP at the beginning of this year, I stuck to it for just over a month and managed to loose a stone and a half but then a cluster of parties and outing came up and motivation was lost, BIG TIME!
Now I really want and need to get back on track, I'm looking at this as not so much a diet and exercise programme but as a lifestyle overhaul!
Me and one of my bridesmaids are signing up to the local Leisure Centre, the plan will be swimming and using gym equipment 3 times a week for roughly 2 hours each session (1hr in gym, 1hr swim) and also 1 - 2 low impact classes each week to build up our fitness levels and stamina then after 2 months or so start incorporating some high impact classes.
Also I'm going to log all my food on MFP religiously!
I've also ordered and have the 30 Day Shred waiting on my shelf for me to use once I get in to the swing of things!
Is 4 stone (at least) an achievable target in 12 months, would I be able to lose this, or hopefully more in this time?
Any information or tips would be appreciated about what fitness classes anyone has found most effective and also how to get the best out of the gym equipment for losing weight, toning and building muscle!
I look forward to starting my journey along with you guys and your results I'm sure will keep me motivated

hello
congrats on the wedding)
i have at lesast 3 stone that i want to lose and i tried all the self motivational techniques and joined a gym and did a swim and classes but i found that my main problem was pushing myself to work harder, i used to stop when i got tired or when i thought i did enough. turns out i didnt really have a clue what i was doing, so i have invested in a personal trainer who is going to show me all the correct workouts that are suitable for me. Also he is a trained nutritionist so he tells me what i should be eating and when and finally he told me not to watch the scales, and iv realised its not 3 stone that i want to lose but infact 2 dress sizes.... which he said is very achievable in 12 months.
i know they can be costly but i have tried all routes. Good luck with your journey, would love you to keep us posted on your progress throughout the next 12 months)

I believe it is achievable. My goal is to lose 60 pounds in 12 months, which I believe is only a little bit more than your 4 stones. My goal is 5 pounds per month.0

You can do this, nothing like a wedding for motivation - Good Luck0

Hi!
Thanks for the input, I think I will defiantly need the advice of a personal trainer as i will have no idea what is going on and also as you said your diet needs to work along size your exercise plan.
It will be hard getting one though as all our money is going in to the wedding savings but luckily I found out that one of my old school friends Mum works as a personal trainer at the centre I am joining just up my road she she said she will be happy to give me a few pointers so I'm glad about that!
Good luck0 -
hia, i'm getting married sept 2012 as well ( i think lol) 4 stone is totally doable in 12 months! i've lost 2 stones so far since the beginning of the year & plan lose 3 stone by the end of summer & maybe an extra stone before my wedding next year. I cant afford a personal trainer so i'm just using MFP & being TOTALLY honest with myself. I log in everything i eat. when i 1st started i logged in my food when i felt like it but for the past over a month now i've been logging everything & i'm seeing results. i've been doing 30DS since 2nd of April as well, i did 10 sessions of outdoor bootcamp to kick start my exercise was gonna pay for more sessions but tbh 30DS is giving me good results plus i do extra cardio sometimes with JM Burn fat Boost metabolism dvd & i do other cardio from "fitness tv" saved on my sky box. so yea you can totally lose 4 stone in 12 month, just be consistent & set realistic goals & dont give up if you over eat if you have a bad eating day or the weight is coming off as fast as you expect0
