Quest Protein Powder

Hey all. Quest protein powder just became available in Canada (yay!!) and I'm really wanting to try it. What is the verdict on flavour? I usually use PVL chocolate and on it's own with water....meh! The sales lady at GNC said Quest is great but then again, she's selling a product. Any insight would be great. Thanks.

What tastes great to me, might taste like utter garbage to you or others. Maybe you can find a dealer who has sampler packs or get Quest to send you some sample packs of some of your preferrered flavors.0

Quest doesn't ship samples to Canada (boo!). I asked the lady at GNC for samples but nadda. Just thought I'd get a general idea.0

Well, unless you can find another store that is more open to let customers try stuff. We have a local GNC type store that will open a few tubs of new product to let people taste test when they get something in, which of course help their business; otherwise, just order a small tub of your favorite flavor profile and give it a try yours of. They say you can return hassle free for any reason for 100% refund.

I am by no means affiliated with Quest, so research for yourself as things may be different in Canada on returns and such if you go that route.0 -
I heard it tasted great and tried the chocolate milkshake.
I don't like it. Then again, I'm pretty sensitive to stevia aftertaste, and unfortunately, that's what's getting to me. I love the texture of it, though.
I have to doctor it up to drink it.0 -
My favourite is vanilla and chocolate, but I find chocolate a bit sweet. The peanut butter is disgusting! It tastes like a combination between smelly feet and popcorn. I personally can't stand it, but I've seen a lot of people who love it.0

  you've definitely put me off of trying the peanut butter flavour!
I can't wait to try the chocolate flavour, it'll be in Australia mid April

Most reviews I've read on quest protein say it's better for baking considering it's really thick from casein. I like a thinner protein shake maybe I'm weird it really all depends on you I've tried several and the one I'm most happy with lately is biox power whey and mts both in chocolate.0

I've only tried the peanut butter flavor and I like it! But then again I add cashew milk, some sugar free instant butterscotch pudding mix, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ice. Delicious! I'm looking to get vanilla soon so I can have more variety and try it in my coffee.0

Thanks for the input. I'll probably pick some up at my local GNC. My PVL chocolate is so-so...great with almond milk and a banana but meh on it's own. Why not try a new one0

Thanks for this post. I despise the Stevia aftertaste, so Quest is a no-go for me.0 -
I honestly didn't pick up any Stevia aftertaste in Quest's powders. I've tried all of their flavors (except for unflavored, which I don't really care to try since I mainly make smoothies), and favor the Vanilla Milkshake out of them all.
Vanilla Milkshake - Very clean and sweet tasting. Tastes absolutely divine in anything (oatmeal, pancakes, yogurt, you name it), but mixes especially well in smoothies whether it would be just by itself (and water, but I prefer adding unsweetened almond milk) or with a frozen banana and some flavored nut butter. I can't get enough of this stuff!
Chocolate Milkshake - I liked this one, but I wasn't too impressed. Reminded me more of milk chocolate, whereas I guess I was hoping more for dark (so I could pick up the cocoa notes more). It's good, but not something I would go out of my way for, since you're more limited in what you can mix with it.
Strawberries & Cream - I really like this one, more than the chocolate milkshake but not as much as the vanilla, again, because you're limited in what you can mix it with. Whereas some powders are heavy on the strawberry flavor, this one is definitely prominent on its cream component. Reminds me of neapolitan (minus the chocolate), or strawberry shortcake. Very good, and I could see myself getting this again. Good strawberry taste that isn't too overpowering.
Peanut Butter - I enjoyed this, but it would probably be my least favorite flavor, since I could make something similar to it by mixing the vanilla milkshake flavor with powdered peanut butter. If you enjoy powdered peanut butter and want to save the work of mixing the two, I'd suggest this, but for me I'd rather not be limited to peanut butter as I get tired of it after so long. It's like a sweeter version of powdered peanut butter, really.
Overall, I strongly urge you to try Quest, even if it would be just one tub! While all flavors are sweet (and in my opinion have absolutely no aftertaste), I recommend getting the Vanilla Milkshake flavor because it's good on its own and is extremely versatile.
Worst case scenario, you don't like it and return it, or don't buy it again. But ever since trying these powders I have been unable to purchase any other brand again - none compare to the taste nor nutrition of these powders! It's great how much protein and calcium they have, and I love how they're a blend of whey isolate and casein!0 -
I've tried the chocolate and vanilla. Vanilla was honestly my favorite. They send you a recipe book with it to give you ideas of yummy smoothies and foods you can make with it. For 110 calories and barely any sugar, you can't beat it. I really am a fan, but I love all of their products0

I haven't tried it but am curious. I love their white chocolate raspberry bars. I use UMP protein powder and it's very tasty.0

Thanks so much! I think I'll pick up a chocolate and vanilla. Never hurts to have too much protein powder hanging around0
