A friend of mine is getting married in July, and although i'm making OK progress I was wondering if it was advisable to add on an extra day of working out. Leaving Sunday as my rest day? I usually don't exercise that much on the weekend.. Is that OK? or should I stick with 2 rest days?

You working out as much as you want as long as your not putting a strain on your body. Trust me your body will tell you when it's had enough! LOL

I work out six days a week and I think as long as you don't push yourself too hard, like maybe do a lighter workout some days, then you should be fine! :)

I follow a scheduled workout program and it gives me 1 rest day per week. SO, 6 days is good.

I work out every day mostly. Sometimes I take a day off if I feel like I need it or if I changed my workout that week. As long as you arn't sore or really tired, I say go for it!
  • What everyone already said is correct; I do think you should avoid doing the same thing 6 days a week though. In my opinion it's less strain on the body if you change up the muscle groups and activities to give certain areas rest days while working on others.

I try to do at least 30 minutes cardio every single day of the week, I just make sure my body feels good and I am giving it enough food for energy.

    Do whatever works for you.

I prefer 6 days a week (I take Sunday's off). I just feel great when I only take 1 day off (with Monday being only an "active" rest day, with some light Pilates for 1 hour, that's it) . It doesn't take me long to recover. But all people are different (you probably are too). You probably take a longer time to recover and need 2 days off.

So, just stick to what works for you. Have the dress fit you, not the other way around (don't kill yourself to try to get into a specific size dress). The DRESS should fit you, not YOU into the dress.

I am following a workout plan as well, and I workout 6 days a week.
  • I always work out 6 days per week and my sundays are usually an active rest day where I do Yoga or something light like walking the park.

i workout 6 days a week as well, and on the 7th i walk and do abs (which for some reason i dont consider a workout)

The main idea is: your muscles need to rest. so do not do the same workout every day, change it up.
if you run, run 4 days and the other 2 days do more strength training. workout your core. your upper body. etc.

    Good luck and have fun!

I work out 6 days a week....sometimes twice in one day!! Just depends on how I feel.....I do listen to my muscles...if they are super sore...I slow down.....I do not listen to my brain when it say..."hey...lets just take the day off".....nope....then I don't listen!!

    Good luck to you!!!

I agree with Teasem...your body will definately let you know. Try alternating...5 one week and 6 the next....and make sure your not hittn the same muscle groups consecutively if your lifting weights. Good luck!
