On holiday and scared to weigh in...

I'm on holiday. Still tracking calories and weighing etc as best I can. I'm still at my calorie deficit but I'm scared to death to weigh in incase I've put weight on.

What a bizarre creature I am. Does anyone else panic when they go away even when they are still tracking etc?

Chances are you'll have put a bit of weight on if you're eating a bit more freely, but it'll mostly be water weight.

Maybe this'll make you feel better. The graph below is my weight loss graph, and the red circled bit is a 2 week holiday I went on with my family. I didn't track at all, and ate everything in sight. As you can see as soon as I got home and started tracking again my weight went right back down to where it was before I left. So even if you have gained, it'll be gone again soon!

This is a really re-assuring, helpful post. Well done!

I agree 100% too, whatever you do gain on holiday will soon come back off so don't worry about it. Enjoy the holiday!

Well I've just weighed in and lost 2lbs so more than I usually lose at home! :o Must be all the walking I've done around St Ives ha ha!

Just bought myself a scone and some clotted cream to celebrate! ;)

Also the scales may be different so would wait till you're home.

Lol just read your last reply. Sorry didn't want to dishearten. Hilly walking should burn calories so fingers crossed. It's the cider I'd be more worried about :)

I"m on vacation now. And eating everything in sight.

It is what it is. LOL I know full well I won't gain back all the weight I've lost in a weeks time, and expect the scales to tell me I Was naughty. It's all good. It will come off within a week or two I expect.

I use Tesco's scales whenever I weigh so hopefully not too bad a discrepancy. I threw my home ones away as I couldn't deal with the temptation ha ha.

don't fret, enjoy your holiday, any small gain will disappear in a few weeks  most of it will be water weight.

One thing I had to learn while I was in active weight loss mode, is that I had to remove emotion from the scale. Once I got to that point I was able to really get my head in the right place and focus on what's important/long term success. Enjoy your holiday, be mindful of your choices/portion sizes, don't weigh yourself and when you come back just get back to your normal routine :)
