I know this is at the end of the day the same thing but is it better to do cals for 1lb a week and try to stay under or do 2lbs a week and meet my goal? i see lots of people who stay under their goal even if its at 1300 cals. i did my first week again and i didnt lose but i know its bc i went over cals, it is hard to stay at my goal of 1370.

You should be aiming to hit your goal. And weight loss isn't linear...there will always be weeks where you don't lose or even gain. You would have had to eat 7000 calories over your goal (at 2 pounds a week) to have not lost any fat. I'd say go for the middle amount of 1.5 pounds a week.

It takes longer than two weeks, so just keep doing what you're doing and it will come.

On MFP my goal is 1 pound per week but I try to eat under that goal. It's all psychological, but for me, 1 pound per week is my baseline goal but 2 pounds per week is my stretch goal. If I can leave extra calories on the table without going hungry , it's a bonus
