I have tendonitis in right ankle, and am trying to think of cardio/workouts that won't affect my injury. Any suggestions?

You should treat temdonitis with the respect it deserves. its an injury, so be careful you dont make it worse.

That said anything thats upper body could work.

Krankl machine, rope machine, maybe swimming. just be carefyl as the best treatment is rest. the rower and bike are not weight bearing, but it all depends on the nature of your injury.

You could try swimming? The front crawl might move the ankle too much but other strokes like the sidestroke should be okay.

I'm dealing with tendinosis in my shoulder and I'm going through physical therapy for it since it's been ongoing for 4 months now.

I only do water workouts or swim when my tendonitis flares up.

I would look at switching to strength/weight lifting exercises for awhile. I had tendonitis in my right leg/ankle (Posterior Tibialis Tendon) and couldn't really do any weight bearing cardio for months (no running, no biking, nothing). I supplemented with weights 4 x a week and really improved my overall strength. Funny during that time I also lost a few pounds. I tend to gain with running (105 to 112-115)

I'm actually having some knee issues that may be tendonitis. It still hasn't went away, so I think a trip to the PT is on order. I can run on it, but it is sore afterwards. I've only ran a total of 4 miles in two weeks so its a bummer, but seems to be ever so slightly improving with relative rest.

Anyway, good luck, and if you are interested in any specific weight exercises--let me know!

Thank you everyone. I found some arm workouts that I can do from home. I did air speed bag this morning. I love swimming and water aerobics... I haven't done either in forever. I think I am going to add in strength/weight lifting. I think with all this awesome advice, I am off to a great start!
