If you only want to track protein, ignore the calories.0

You can track both. And carbs, and fat, and micros, too. MFP tracks it all.
But it will still set your goals based on calories, not just based on protein. Because regardless of how much protein you consume, what matters for weight loss is how many calories you eat overall. Since your profile indicates that you're trying to lose weight, you should really be tracking overall calories.0
