Losing everywhere but my belly....

I have lost 6lbs and several inches overall (don't know exact number). My face and muffin top are the most noticeable, but my belly is no different. I'm getting pissed off and self conscious, well more than normal. Is it water weight? Is it a "time" thing? I know you can't spot reduce, but I need SOMETHING to happen there. Calorie wise I am doing well. Food choice wise, not always.

it might be the last place you lose the fat, just keep working hard, it will go away eventually!0
-
Just keep doing what you're doing. It might be the last thing to go, but eventually it will have to come off if you keep eating at a deficit.0
-
It's always the last thing to go on me. Keep on truckin'.0

It will likely be the last thing to lose. I was about 160 and am now 120 and a size 4 and I still have a small belly. It is not noticeable with clothes on but it is there and I see it every time I strip. My trainer told me that I am doing all the right things physically so now I am looking at my diet. Chances are, grains are going to be greatly reduced or eliminated. Bye bye bread, tortillas, cereal, corn, etc. I am not happy about that. However, if I want that belly gone, that is the next thing to try.0

The last week of the month we will be changing our eating habits drastically so hopefully that will help. I just dont want this belly to be the first thing people see.0

I'm 107 and going down from a size four and my belly is still taking forever. I just have to keep on with strength training, I guess.0

6lbs is such a small amount that I would not expect to see a difference.0

I've lost 24lbs, I'm now down to my last 7 and my belly has only only just started to disappear Be patient. Usually the first place you want to lose is typically the last to go. Murphys law :grumble:0

I take pictures each month and in my pictures I started losing at the top of my belly first. This will be my 6th month and I'm finally seeing a difference towards the bottom. Just keep doing what you are doing and it will come!0

WTG on 6 pounds. Keep doing what you're doing and it will come.0

The belly usually is the last place for it disappear. Since spot reducing isnt possible...you should do a lot of belly workouts to speed up the process a bit. Get the belly toned!!0

I'm 10 lbs down and same here! It's just a hard area to lose fat on for most women. I lost a lot of fat in my back/arms/legs... none of which had a lot of fat to begin with, so kind of a bummer since I wasn't ever insecure about those spots. But oh well! At least we'll be toned everywhere! The belly will go eventually just stick with it!0

My face got thin and my collar bones started jutting out, plus i need cushions when i sit down because of my bony tailbone, before my belly started shifting!!

I'm not saying I expect it to be flat and toned after little loss, but I'd like it to not enter a room before my boobs....jus sayin...Well, that and I am sick of sucking in and loose shirts, I'm in HI and it's getting too hot for the big Ts0

I'm in the same situation as you! Not sure if it would help if I eat more protein and less carbs? I usually go over my carbs and am under on my protein macros
Could this be part of the issue?0 -
I think the fat comes off when it wants. If you do figure out a secret let me know so I can use it on my hips & thighs!0

I have that problem too. There is a good chance thats part of it. I know Calories are calories, but I feel like whats in the food will also really change how your body reacts to it. (Bloat and such)0 -
I'm going to be blunt: If you have quite a bit of weight to lose, it is likely that it will be a long time before you get to the point where you can tuck things in or stop sucking it in and wearing tops that are loose around the waist. I'm saying that to be realistic, not to be mean.
I've gone from 202 to 150. My arms and legs are thin and if it weren't for my stomach, I'd consider my weight loss journey finished. If you look at me from the front, I look thin. From the side, it's a different story (picture below so you can see what I mean.) My stomach has gotten a lot smaller but it is still, proportionately speaking, big. It sucks but that's how it is. I'm hoping that another 10 pounds will take care of it but my body still wants to do stupid stuff like lose fat in my wrists while my stomach stays the same or shrinks only very slightly. I am not shooting for a flat stomach by any means, just one that doesn't make me look 3 months pregnant and allows me to tuck in a top would be fine with me.

I'm down 25 and barely an inch from the waist. At BMI 22 which is far off from the overweight BMI that I started with my waist size still indicates things like increased risk for (insert nasty stuff).
But you know what - it's ok. It will go away, it'll be the last 10 pounds to go, but it has no other option. The good news is that you are losing visceral fat in your stomach which is the danger danger fat that can cause a lot of harm - but losing it is not as visible to you. The bad news is that the subcutaneous fat on your stomach comes last - that's the muffin top fat that is not that unhealthy, but at the same time it's visible.
To my understanding here is the metabolic magic that causes this - fat cells have two types of receptors - beta-3 and alpha-2 receptors. The body prefers fat storage with higher number of beta-3 receptors - like your face, arms, chest, lower legs etc. Beta-3 accelerate lyposis(fat burning), alpha-2 do the opposite. Stomach, butt and inner thigh fat have really high alpha-2 to beta-3 ratio. The body will get to them eventually, but it will take the other options first.
These types of things depend on your genetics of course, but ultimately genetics determine your receptor ratio and the receptor ratio determines your fat loss sequence. It's all calories in calories out, but the fat goes out in the sequence your body wants - there is no way you can influence that. The amount of protein, carbs, number of crunches won't help, you might as well be taking half your calories from sugar and if you are under yoru goal you will still be losing(but don't do that, you'll feel like s$1t and will mess up your insulin levels). You should watch your macros, but do that for your help and to feel satisfied and energized, enjoy being active and just keep under the goal.
In other words - just keep tracking, trust the process and most importantly - enjoy it. We have no other choice. Belly fat will come off.0 -

Oh, I hear ya. I'm in the same boat as you. I've had to get links removed on all my bracelets, and my wrists were tiny to begin with. My collarbone sticks out now, my arms and legs have gotten thinner, and my boobs are shrinking. But my stomach and muffin top refuse to budge.
I'm not stressing about it, though. It'll disappear when it's good and ready.0 -
Unfortunately your tummy is always the last to go I currently have the same problem but high intensity training works I find the belly blitz by charlotte burns it off & it's toning and getting rid of the dreaded pooch good luck0

Oh yeah. I'm not stressing but I do still find it annoying, mostly because it's hard to find clothing that I feel like I look good in. Right now I am kicking myself because I (stupidly) did not buy the dress in the picture on the left right away and when I went back this week it was gone in my size.0 -
Your tum is one of the more stubborn pals in weight loss. Try to not pay too much attention to that one spot and look at yourself overall. It'll shrink even slower if you focus on it.0

I am doing the same thing! I started my diet February 10th and have lost 16 pounds and 9.5" overall but Im losing everywhere but my belly. I still have 24 pounds to go so I'm not stressing yet. It will probably be the last thing to go. Keep up the good work:)0

Yeah I still have 25lbs left to lose as well. One day......one day.....As long as I get there before September I guess I'll be ok.0
