Leg question

Hi all,

I'm a 5'2 girl, around 220 pounds but most of it seems to be around my hips and legs. I have these fat pockets right under my knees on my lower leg and on at the back also under my knee on my calves. It looks really ugly and I'm not asking for spot reducing (that's not working, I know) but I hope there are some people who have it too? Most pictures show 'normal' but bigger legs, mine are real chunky...Sometimes it just helps not to be alone.

Thanks :)

Ok, maybe some extra information. My waist is 32 inches, my hips are 50 inches. My thighs are 31.4 inches (wooah huge). Now I know I'm still obese but I was wondering if somebody else has similar stats like me?

I am pretty curvy although not to the extent you are. I'm a bit taller - almost 5'4" with 31" waist, 41" hips and 25" thighs. When I am carrying extra weight it tends to sit in those places that you described (and also my back, weird). However, I work with a lady who is very fit but proportionally built much like you. I would say she probably has to get her pants altered because the waist/hip/thigh differential is so great but I think she looks fabulous! It just goes to show that we have all these different shapes. Stick with it and find your fabulous shape, too!

I know a woman with similar stats as you...so you are hippy...not a biggy.

To answer your question, yes I have legs like that. My waist is 34 and my hips 50. My thighs are 30" and my calves 19". I definitely know what you mean about "fat pockets" around my knees/calves. I've had them since puberty, even with weight fluctuations. I've never really met anyone with legs like mine... just super thick all the way down to the ankle :( I get super jealous of people who weigh more than me yet have nice shapely legs!

I don't know what causes it, genetics or what not. I've looked into lipedema but never been tested or anything. I'm hoping losing weight will help them have a better shape but I don't have much hope.

I want to start running, i read everywhere that its great for toning legs...so give that a try. Already biking a hour five days a week to work and bodycombat three days a week and sure lost some inches from my hips but they are still massive...

I am not shaped that way, but I know several people who are.

A friend of mine is very big through the hips and legs. She is a dancer and I think that she carries her weight better than I do--she's kind of like a Botero painting come to life, but not quite that big. Me, it's ALL around my belly and I have thin legs--I'm more unbalanced in a way.

I have thunder thighs, cankles, huge calves (i can not find knee high boots unless i pay a lot of money) and fat knees with a big square bum (although once it is in jeans it looks more round) they do go down as i found out when i lost weight the first time but they are always big without shape however i am not bothered about it as that is my shape and luckily i have a large bust to go with it which makes it look more in proportion but it is not really.

@Paperchains38. Do you also have these fat pockets under your knee? Or is this something really strange..
