NYC Trip - Need Snack Ideas - No Fridge!

Hi everyone!
I am leaving in three weeks on a six day trip to NYC - it's my first time ever going to the "big apple." I will chaperoning a local high school trip and will have 4 teenagers in my care.
I know food there is going to be expensive, and I want to try as much local food as possible, but in addition to that, I would like some snack ideas that I can pack in advance that won't require refrigeration. I will need to keep them in my hotel room for a week and be able to carry them in a backpack during the day. Not sure if fresh fruit is going to be my best option, and I don't want to get hung up on all the sugars in granola bars all week long. I love cheese sticks, but am afraid they would go bad just being on ice at night and in my pack all day.
I already enjoy almonds and trail mixes, but I think I might need a bit more variety than this.
Anyone know a good brand of individually wrapped beef sticks? I know high in fat, but could help to change things up a bit.
Suggestions are helpful!

Fresh fruit...apples and banana don't need refridgeration. Also...take a lunch cooler, great way to keep things like cheese sticks and lunch meat cold. Have fun!0

Granola or cereal bars too!0

I love to snack on Pirates Booty. They are like Cheetos but all natural. Dried fruit is sugary but could be a good option. Carrot sticks don't need to be kept in the fridge so they might be good, too. Maybe turkey jerky. Have fun in New York! It's a fun town!0

How about some of the individually packaged "cups" of unsweetened applesauce or fruit packed in 100% juice? Those don't need refrigeration, and they are very low-cal. Small boxes of raisins would also be good.0
