I understand stretching is really important after exercising, but I don't really know how to do it O.o Anyone know any good stretch routines or links where I can learn them please? I'm feeling a bit tight in the legs as I'm mostly walking/elliptical training and I want to learn how to stretch out properly.

Thanks in advance, Neil.

This one looks pretty okay. I just googled it. I'm bad at actually stretching.

I should follow my own advice and get more stretching in, myself!

You can usually find stretches on running websites. Some tips on stretching:

    - Make sure you are warm before you stretch. At the the end of the work out is a good time.
    - The stretches should NOT be painful. Only move to where you start to feel the stretch, DON'T push it.
    - Hold stretches for 30-60 seconds and do 2-3 times for each stretch.
    - Stretch everyday for best results. Ideally twice a day, but at least once.

Hope this helps. Yoga is also a great way to work on your flexibility!

Warming up is important, but many people forget to do it. It helps your body transition into an optimal state for burning fat and building muscle, so you can be certain you'll be rewarded for your work. Also, warming up is important for preventing many easy-to-avoid injuries, such as cramps, pulls, and tears. Plus, warming up is a good period to get prepared mentally - go into your workout with a positive mindset and a revved up body!

Make sure you take ten minutes to do a quick cardio warm-up.

I have a wife that is a trained dancer and aerialist. She attempts to bend me in a pretzel whenever she gets the chance and shows me stretches that I can't do almost every day... She'll be sitting there in the splits while eating and I can't even touch my toes...

I know this isn't advice, but it keeps me stretching!
