Overeaten, probably not losing anything this month...

It's my birthday today. And leading up to today I've probably eaten about 7000 extra calories...I haven't calculated, because I don't count so strictly anymore. But I know it will probably be less than more if I'm out on estimation.
The rest of the month I have a deficit of about 300 a day. So, that means I'll be lucky if I maintain my weight...might even gain. Eeek.
Anyway.... who wants a cupcake and mini lemon meringue??

Happy birthday! I'll take a cupcake please!
If you've only have one day of 7000 cals, and you stay on track the rest of the time, I don't think you'll need the full month to recover. I've had the occasional binge like that, I find my body flushes out the excesses in about a week. Fingers crossed!0 -
Happy birthday . Lemon meringue for me please!0

Hahaha according to my personal trainer I should worry. But I don't. I'll get to goal eventually. It'll just take longer.0

Technically he doesn't have a say anymore. Starting next month I'm training without him. He's just devising a program for me. (Weights 5 days a week.)
I just needed him to show me how to not break my own bones.0 -
I'm all for cheating occasionally, but 7000 calories worth of binging is a little extreme. Sorry to be negative, but you may want to reevaluate things. A whole pecan pie is 3300 calories, for example. More than two whole pies worth of extra calories is not a healthy approach.0

Meh- you'll be totally fine. Usually every 3-4 months I have an absurdly high day. My progress is slow and steady. I don't have much to lose- so yeah it's a little bit of a blurg- but it rarely makes a noticable dent. enjoy your day.
My birthday is a celebration all week long since my BF and I combine (he's the 1st and I'm the 4th) ... Needless to say I eat an redonkulous amount of cake.
You're on the right track- keep going ham.0 -

It was her birthday and she enjoyed it. There are people here who are similar numbers at Thanksgiving and Christmas and it had little effect on them. It's not like she's going that far over once a week/month.
Happy birthday, Leana! Those look delicious!0 -

I highly doubt she's eating that much- I TRIED to eat 6000 calories on Thanksgiving last year and I failed MISERABLE. Christmas I managed to hit a measly 4200.
It's insanely hard to eat that much food- most people don't come any where close to that.
But whatever- it's her birthday- I regularly eat an entire large pizza by myself in one night. Does that make me a binger?
Nope. Makes me someone who just really likes some pizza.
Let her be.0 -
If it's overestimation, then no big. If that's all this is, then just disregard whatever I'm posting.
But 7000 *extra* calories is pretty extreme if accurate. To look at your example, if after eating a 2000 calorie maintenance diet, I then went and ate three large cheese pizzas from Little Caesars (6000 calories, for reference), that would be pretty crazy.
edit: to clean up grammar a bit0 -

Which was my original point- that's a FAK load of food. She's probably not eating that. Seriously- TRY to eat that much food and you're likely to be ill. Especially for people regularly eating less food.
It's hard work to eat that much- so I just- honestly have a hard time she's gonna eat that much- and even if she does- so what- like no one has ever eaten that much ever on a day?
She'll probably feel a little sick- take an epic dump and move on with her life. I'm just not seeing any signs of "dangerous" behavior.0 -
My birthday is this week and I have every intention of indulging as I see fit. I've got myself signed up for all kinds of free food.
I know the line between full and "well damn I've eaten so much I'm gonna feel sick the rest of the day." I'll have all kinds of delicious leftovers, definitely be over my calories, and have a good time enjoying it all.
Leana - good for you! Special occasions are absolutely meant to be celebrated. I'm glad you enjoyed all the treats and such.

I read her post to mean that over a period of days ("leading up to today"), she ate an extra 7000 calories. Not all at once. That isn't that hard to do over a period of time if indulging in calorie dense foods like cupcakes. It happens. I don't think it's enough information to condemn her as binging and unhealthy. Over a week or 2 before Xmas, I could easily eat 7000 calories in treat, chocolate, and nuts.

I didn't eat 7000 in one day, it was over the course of the week. That's 1000 a day, which is about 2 hotdogs and 2 cone ice creams.0

I sometimes do this every few months. It just stalls my loss a little. Doesn't bother me too much. At this stage I'm focussing more on recomp than the scale number.0

Hells, I eat close to my calorie goal and gain 2#. Gimme a cupcake if there's any left, please.0
