I need some opinions on how many calories I burn while shoveling snow. It's not in the database and I don't want to guess. I had to put something into my exercise log so I did guess about 50 calories for 25 minutes. Too much or too little? Any info would be appreciated!!
Thanks!!

I would guess that it would be more than that, but I don't know the amount. If you would walk at a leasurely pace for 25 min you would burn aroung 90 calories. I would think shoveling would burn more than walking.0

i would think more than that, maybe gardening would be accurate in the log? :flowerforyou:0

Here's a great site that has pretty much any kind of activity you can think of, including shoveling snow, which I did myself alittle while ago. Sure is gonna be a LONG, LONG winter!

I do some of the same but I walk 6 days a week and just log that. The other, maybe 30 minutes. I've been using "gardening". Closest thing I've found so far but dont' really know how accurate it is:)0

That's the same way I felt when I found out how many calories are burned doing stuff like mowing the lawn and scraping and painting the house! I usually reward myself with Chinese food when I've had such a huge amount burned! :laugh:0 -
