Hey guys
I did Squat and leg exercises and I know I'll be extremely sore tomorrow and most likely the next day. It's been almost an entire year since I did leg exercises.
What can I do to alleviate the soreness?
Is there something I can eat? Such as cherries etc.?
Thanks guys

I don't get DOMS....
But you could try magnesium, rolling, lots of nutrient dense food, or if that fails, a spoon of cement.0 -
Light activity always seems to work best for me. Walking, elliptical, something like that. Some stretching and foaming rolling helps too but only temporarily. You'll just hate life for a few days, it's no big deal.0

I had been doing a lot of leg work and thought I was doing pretty well. Then I decided to try a Body Pump class. It hurt to walk for 3 or 4 days after
Even when doing a heavy leg day I knew when I was in for more than the usual 'payback' from pushing too hard. My quads would be twitching before I left the gym.

Lots of water and stretching!0

I always KILL my legs with a good workout out every two days or so...make sure you eat enough protein to help recover drink water. roll, ice, stretch ...repeat.0

Specific sore spots get ice, but for overall leg soreness I prefer a dip in the hot tub to soak.0

Lots of water and protein
Ice for the muscles
stretch
(personally I like to soak in a long hot bubble bath but I don't think it helps)0 -
My first 5x5 session was a Friday morning, early. Going to bed Sunday night I could barely walk, it was bad. Monday morning I went back to the gym, was fine, and have been ever since.
It seems people were right when they said it gets better.
I do find my legs feel weak/fatigued after a workout, but certainly no discomfort now.0 -

as one of my favourite trainers likes to say...Movement is medicine
She also adds in together is better but that may be a bit soppy for here0 -
Go for walk, try foam rolling, but mostly just suffer through it.0

Squats = pain its just the way it is!! Hot tub is my therapy right after but everyone is different. I ride 90- 110 miles a week on my bike so my legs are always moving..0

I asked this a while back after my trainer gave my legs a workout. I was told lots of water, potassium, foam roller, and movement. It did seem to help, after a couple days the DOMS went away.0

DOMS does go away in a couple of days IME .. well for me, if I get DOMS, 24 hours is a bit tight/ painful, 48 hours mega-sore, 72 hours mainly gone and able to work out again0 -
don't start Major. work up to your max #. 3 sets with a little time in between. this lets your legs stretch &: will be loose by the 3rd set. STRETCH but only until you start to feel a pull. stop and repeat. Lots of water.0

probably too late now, but a quick swim if you can get it in after leg day works wonders0

Keep moving and hit it again with in 48-72 hours. I go for 48.
Eventually the pain will subside.
Hot bath, stretching.
Eventually the pain will end.
I'm Kinda repeating that mantra to myself.
I went on vacation and did not train at all. I came home and got back at it. I didnt drop weight and I just pushed thru.
It feels like the first time I've ever worked out only I'm strong as all get out.
I'm in pain.
It will end.
Maybe by next week and then I will be able to stop calling Jesus every time I move. I will not stop moving tho. The lack of movement the lack of physical exertion is what brings the pain.
Enjoy the pain. If you continue to workout regularly it will be a thing of the past.0 -

Increase frequency, stretch, make sure protein is adequate and rest is sufficient. Drink enough water. Foam roll. Take a shower but switch between cold and hot every couple of minutes during it and target the water mostly towards legs.0

Can I just look at your profile pic for awhile? That's not weird, right?0
