So I'm one of those that has never like the taste of ground turkey in any recipe. But I got this recipe from www.allrecipes.com and I decided to try it. I tweeked it a little bit and it turned out to be only around 250 calories if you make it 6 servings and only 174 calories if you set it as 8 serving. Can't wait to eat left overs tomorrow.
1 cup yellow onion, diced
1 tbsp garlic minced
non-stick spray
1 lb 93/7 Ground Turkey
1 tsp Mrs Dash no salt Onion and Herb
2 cups Swanson Vegetable Broth
1 15 oz can diced tomatoes, no salt added
2 cups Progresso Hearty Tomato soup
1 can light red kidney beans, mashed
2 tbsp chili powder
1/2 tsp each
paprika
oregano
cumin
cinnamon
nutmeg
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (add more for heat)
Cornbread
Shredded Mild Cheddar
Sautee onion and garlic until soft with non stick spray in large pot. Add turkey, cook until browned. Add broth, diced tomatos, soup, beans, and all spices. Bring to a boil. Turn burner to low and simmer for 1 hour. Pour over cornbread and put shredded cheese on top.
You can cook at a slightly higher temp and cut cook time in half but to really get the flavors in there you need to simmer for as long as possible. 1 1/2 to 2 hours is preferred. Enjoy!!!

Thanks for Turkey Chili recipe! I got sick on the "gamey" taste one time. Your recipe sounds like the flavoring is good.
Congrats on your goals by the way, and keep going!
Blessings
