Has anyone bought this game yet? Is it good?0

My DH bought it last spring right after it came out. It's not bad. There are a lot of fun little games to play. We both used it faithfully until we got bored of it. I'll still use it occasionally if I can't get to the gym for some reason. I would probably buy it again. If more exercises came out for it, I would definitely get those. Hope this is helpful....0

I really really want a Wii, but since money is tight- I am planning on breaking out my Dance Dance Revolution! It has a 'workout' mode that tells how many calories you burn. I know this didn't answer your question, but I thought it might help with other ideas! :flowerforyou:0

I just got it a few weeks ago. It's not as intense as I would have liked (my workout is over half cardio) but it does have some fun balance games. It relies a lot on balance and posture and, being a dancer, I thought I'd have that nailed but I found out there's a lot I can work on! There is some good yoga and some "strength" exercises that are pretty hard! It's a fun alternate workout or addition to my workout but I wouldn't ditch the gym entirely.0

I was wondering the same thing. I am waiting until I see some of the reviews before I buy the game.0 -
I thought this game only came out at the beginning of this month. ? What every one is describing... sounds alot like Wii Fit.0
-
What you are all describing DOES sound alot like Wii fit. I just got this game and have been faithfully working out with it for a week. It kicks my butt. It does a physical test and then adapts your workout to that. You can always increase the intensity if it isn't challenging enough. I enjoy it and am sore. It focuses on a different area each workout.....upper body, core, flexibility, lower body....and it does a session of cardio before the focus on every workout. I LOVE it!0

What is a DH?0
-
I bought the wii game and it came with wii sports, I use it everyday. Yes, I work up a serious sweat playing tennis, baseball, and boxing. The key to getting your heart rate up is to use the remote to punch, and swing , with the same intense that you would if you were actually playing the games. Trust me my muscles are sore afterwards. Go Wii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0

I believe DH stands for Darling Husband0
-
I have Wii Sports and Wii Fit, and I was surprised at how much of a workout I actually got. My husband and I played the boxing and tennis for about 2 hours last sunday....and the next day I felt like I had gotten hit by a truck! I was SOOO sore. and in the Wii fit they have a hulahoop game, a few rounds of that and my booty was burning!!!
No, it wouldnt replace my workouts, but it is a fun way to get a little more of a workout in at the end of the day!0 -
My Fitness Coach is a new game that just came out on the 2nd. I've heard good things about it, but I haven't picked it up yet. It does NOT use the balance board.
Incidentally, EA is coming out with a fitness game next year that looks promising. It uses cool things like resistance bands that plug into the controllers.0 -

What do you think about Fitness Ultimatum. I was going to race out and buy it when it came out, but it got really cruddy reviews. I may ask for this Fitness Coach for Christmas, though.0 -
I asked for fitness coach 2 days ago. My bf said he got it for me. I'm so excited. It seems to be just like a workout video but it gives you different routines. I need change. I'm even debating getting the don king boxing when it comes out cause boxing really gets my heart racing. I've joined a gym 4 months ago and I'm already sick of that0

my wonderful boyfriend got my version on ebay around 30 bucks0 -
son just got this for me for Christmas and gave it to me today.....said he knew i wanted it bad. well, me, DH, son all did our profiles and set up our workout. son wasn't going to do it, until we laughed at him, he got mad and did his profile and the first workout. just watching him i know i am going to love it. MUCH better than jillians(which i have also). you can do your workouts with someone else too. so DH and i might do our together. don't know how that will work out, since he put in to work on his core and i put weight loss. we will try it someday. he is only doing 15 & 30 min workouts. i set mine for 60. i am in better shape than the two of them. that made me feel good. i did 15 pushups. i have never been able to do 5.
well, off to finish laundry.....0 -
I'm so excited to get mine now! Its in the mail!!!!0

I'm 99.9% sure I'm getting it for Christmas tomorrow, so I'm excited as well. I did an hour this morning on the Wii Fit, and although I love it and it never gets old, I'm looking forward to something new.0
-
well, who got theirs for Christmas?????
lovin mine0 -
I just got the Wii Fit and have had been using Wii sports a bit, but not as much as I should.I am just hoping that as I "unlock" more things, you can exercise forlonger time periods before you have to stop and pick another thing to do--that messes with my pace. We'll see!
My friend did get the Jillian game and says it kicked her butt the first time.
Be sure to post and tell us what you all think!0 -
Now that I look at it - it is Wii Fit that I have! Like I said before, it's not too bad, but I did get bored with it. I have DDR for the wii as well. lol...I'm not really co-ordinated enough for it!0
-
It sounds like this is exactly what I am looking for. I know that the reviews are good but would also appreciate feedback from MFPers. Reposted from the hula hoop thread: following.0
-
I'm glad that you asked about this. Our family just got a Wii and I like the hula hoop games and the yoga/strength parts for toning. I feel my abs and hips in ways I have never felt before, LOL.
I was hoping that I could use Wii Fit for cardio on days when the weather makes it hard or impossible to run outdoors. So far I have not found a decent cardio workout. The running in place and free step are unlocked for 30 min. I barely sweat and it is pretty boring. I like the step class because it is fun but it only lasts for 6 min. Does anyone know if there is a way to increase the class to say 30 minutes?0 -
the times will increase as you unlock. it's been awhile since i have done the wii fit. if i remember correctly there is a place at the bottome. say you select the step than on that screen at the bottom should be something about duration click on that and it gives different ones. if you have unlocked them. free step can go for an hour i think. running can go longer also.
again it's been awhile, so trying to remember without turning it on.
hope this helps.0
