If you're just starting out, focus on the calories for now. Once you're comfortable with your routine and you're losing weight steadily you can fool with things like tweaking your macros, calculating your TDEE and BMR and all the rest.0

macros are your macronutrients: protein, fat, and carbohydrates. Some times people refer to micronutrients which is everything else: fiber, individual vitamins and minerals, etc.

I've tried many other ways but to me this is hands down the BEST because it's fun to see what you can actually fit in.... You can eat "normally" on outings and still lose weight
IF you do decide to try it, be sure to do your research.... Suggested intakes for macros varies drastically so it may take some trail and error finding which percentage will work for you
