My mother is asking me to research electronic cigarettes for her. Does anyone have any experience with them? She is a senior citizen and has been smoking for 50+ years.

Any recommendations of what brand to buy?

Where to buy it?

Thanks

I have had many friends try them and it didn't help any of them. I quit a week befor christmas, used chantix for a month. Have had several friends quit using chantix over the years. Sorry nothing good to say about them

This is one of the very few sites that has stuff that is not made in China. If that is not a big deal for you you can find them most anywhere...just google e-cigarette. I have tried them but haven't been able to totally give up the social aspect of smoking yet. It's a good substitute though.

My husband sucessfully quit actual cigarettes with an electronic one. The website he buys everything from is totallywicked -Eliquid http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.com/welcome.html. My brother is also using one to quit cigarettes but he just bought his from a local store that sold them.

I don't know tons of information about them except that it really solved my husband's "hand-oral fixation" that he has with cigarettes. I believe there is a liquid nicotene that he used to add and now has weaned himself off of. He uses it inside and there is very little odor (unless he blows it right at me and even then it's sweet). It's water vapor so it doesn't damage furniture or dis-color anything.

i use green smoke and got them from greensmoke.com. i love them :) i would just recommend starting with a higher strength than what she smokes now. they say that the "lights" are equal to "light cigarettes" but i needed to go stronger at first. i started using them 3 weeks ago, and started replacing real cigarettes with the e-cig for the first week, and totally quit 2 weeks ago. now i'm almost at zero nicotine and it's great.

i wasn't a heavy smoker, and i only smoked for 10 years but they worked for me. it was hard in the beginning, it "just wasn't the same", so for 3 or 4 days i used the gum as well. but now they're awesome and they feel like real cigarettes. good luck with helping her quit!! :)

I quit with an e cig almost 2 years ago, and I can say this product saved my life! Yes, they're made in China, but that's because a Chinese man invented them. Their products are well-made, and they have excellenet quality control. I know a few stateside vendors who actually traveled to China to tour their factory, and they had glowing recommendations.

A popular and reliable starter kit is the Joye 510 model. It comes with 2 complete e cigs, and 5 starter cartridges. Another popular model is the eGo. It's a little pricier, but has a stronger battery that lasts a little longer. The batteries are rechargeable, and all the parts can be replaced as they eventually wear out after several months of use.

A couple good sites that I've ordered from and had good service from are:

    ecigsupply.com
    ecigexpress.com

Totally Wicked site mentioned earlier has a good rep as well. Give this product a try - I know dozens of people who have successfully gotten off tobacco with it. Just avoid the mall kiosks and convenience store disposable models - those are over-priced and poorly made. Good luck!

I have an eGo-T and get my supplies from ecigsupply.com. My favorite flavors are Cherry Cola, Cappuccino, and Dragon fruit. I got my e-cig back at the end of Feb and have not had a Camel LIGHT(blue) since.
