10% weight loss challenge/goal

After losing my first 10lbs I decided to set my next goal at losing 10% of my body weight. All the studies show that losing 10% of your body weight makes a HUGE difference in overall health. At 10% your blood pressure and cholesterol drop and so does risk of heart disease, stroke and diabetes. That's a lot of benefit for 10%. I wonder if I will feel a difference after losing 10%?
So join in and post how many more pounds to lose before you reach your 10% goal. (I have 14lbs to go). Tell us when you're there and how you feel.

10% was 16.7lbs. (Starting weight 167, ending weight 149). I reached 17lbs last week. So I guess I succeeded! YEAH.0

Do you feel the difference? Tell us all about it.

It is good that you have health as a motivator. I do not. Improve health is a byproduct of what I really want.0

Well, I went from an tight 12 to a lose 8 in pants...sometimes 4/6's jeans. I feel "like me" again.

Trying to go from 220-odd to sub-200, if only so I've got *one* thing in my life not to be totally ashamed about, after that I don't know. Part of me wants to be back at 150 where I was fastest, but that was nearly 10 years ago and the weight loss was after serious illness, so it's probably out of reach.0

I am officially disabled so I am sedentary and have been for nearly 3 years. My weight skyrocketed and I started collecting the diseases of obesity(^BP, ^cholesterol and ^blood sugar-prediabetes). So yes, health is my motivation. I am riddled with osteoarthritis in multiple joints and facing several joint replacement surgeries and more spinal surgeries. I just started getting into a pool at local fitness center in an attempt to improve muscle tone. It's hard enough to lose weight when you are healthy so this is a challenge to say the least.0

I might have forgotten to mention that all of my weight loss, all 17lbs of it, was from eating less. I did NO exercise. You can lose it without. But you have to be diligent and consistant.
Here's to 10%!

From what I know yes those stats can improve with weight loss. I was 265lbs 3 years ago. I have a physical around 257lbs. I went up in weight before I dropped. I just had a new physical last week three years later at 212lbs. All my stats have improve and the one I like was I naturally raised my testosterone levels.0
