Heading toward my 60th birthday, and while I know I won't make goal by that time; I'd like to at least make a good start. Lost a lot of weight once before but medical issues put me on a path to gaining that I haven't been able to reverse. Could use any advice, encouragement, and commiseration :* sent my way. Thanks!!

Hello I feel your pain. The best advice is calories in and calories out. Basically burn off more than you take in. Get moving! Whatever you like to do run, walk, spin, bike have fun with in. Weigh and measure everything. Don't trust MFP for calories or exercise calories burned. MFP over estimates calories burned so wearing a heart rate monitor is more accurate. Don't give up anything that you don't plan on giving up for good. This is a life style change and we have to learn how to eat everything in moderation. You can do this. You did it before!!! Take it slow and steady. I don't understand micros or TDEE so I have nothing for that!! lol Good luck and feel free to add me as a friend for support!

Thank you!!! I do currently work out 4x a week for 45 minutes to an hour, but apparently I haven't been paying close enough attention to what I eat 'cause it isn't helping much (other than feeling muscles that are really hard underneath all the fat, lol!). I think probably portion control is my biggest downfall and something I really need to work on, especially since the metabolism is not what it used to be.
