Strength/Weights to do at home?

I'm in the beginning phases of weight loss. I just got comfortable going to the gym to do cardio. I typically do 45-60 minutes of walking on the treadmill 2x a week. I know strength training is very important but would prefer to do it at home. Any suggestions on what equipment I need and how to start for a beginner that dislikes weights?!

well, at some point you're going to have to stop disliking weights, and i think you'll get to love them after you start gaining strength, its addicting.
but as a start point, maybe try using resistance bands? something like these routines:

I used this program and really enjoyed it: http://www.thenewrulesoflifting.com/nrol-for-women Lots of it can be adapted for a home gym.0

You can start with bodyweight exercises (squat, lunges, push ups, pull ups, and handstand pushups). Of course you may need some modified verison of some of these until you develop the strength to do them completely. You should be able to get a progressive resistance program going with no equipment.
Then, I'd invest in a barbell, power rack and bench (make sure the power rack has a pull up bar). You can do a 5x5 program with that and continue your strength gains.0 -

I replaced my gym, weight resistance training, with core power yoga. My body is the reisstance and the flow is a good cardio workout and my balance has improved. Much tougher than it looks.0
