Just wanted to pass on a little advice on anyone suffering from skin conditions.
Stretch marks, loose skin etc.
I looked everywhere online for some sort of advice on what I can do.
Pretty much alot tends to do with genetic, time, nutrition and other factors.
But I'm doing a so called experiment on myself and so far today I actually noticed a small difference.
Nothing miracle wise but enough to keep trying.
I'm taking in a combination of things.
A multi-vitamin
Fish oil
Extra Vitamin C-1000mg & E-400mg
DMSO
MSM
Glutamine-1000mg
Yea I know its alot but so far I've been feeling great and my skin is looking nice too.
I will try on top of this a cocktail lotion of Aloe, coconut oil and msm lotion combined.
I'll let you know how the lotion And pills work out together.

Luckily, I have lost the weight very slowly, especially at first and have had great success with my skin, but in addition, I exfoliate my skin daily and also take a lysine supplement which has really helped. This is a great post! Thanks!0

Thank, btw I looked into the whole losing weight slowly and that's a load of BS pardon my french.
Unfortunate it comes down to genetics from what I've researched.
And talking to several women about their skin after giving birth and some bounced right back others where not so lucky.
I'm trying to heal from the inside lets just say =P this with a combination of weight training and time hopefully I can beat this.0 -

yeah, it's not to say that your skin WILL recover if you lose slowly, but that you have a better chance. ...and that has completely been my experience. I had to gain some weight back in the beginning and lose more slowly and my skin looked better for it. it's a combination of everything, genetics included. some people will be able to lose quickly and still recover nicely. there are no absolutes with skin, only things that can POSSIBLY help.0 -
My skin isnt too bad but its enough that it bothers me.
I wish I didn't make alot of the choices I made growing up but whats done is done.
But for people who wanna give this a try look up dmso and msm especially.0 -
nice post, thank you. funny, I reminded everyone on Friday to be sure to moisturize, especially during the cold months when skin is so dry, to help skin keep the elasticity!0

Thanks for the advice!! I have tons of stretch marks on my belly from pregnancy. What is dmso and msm? I am actually trying to save up to have some laser treatments done on the stretch marks but unfortunatelty one treatment is $400 and it usually takes at least 6-8 treatments for good results!!0

This girl on youtube explains it pretty well, stretch marks never truly go away but lasers make them less noticeable.
I rather go a more natural way then spending tons of cash on lasers.

Excellent advice....you are smart guy!
Love that fish oil! FYI if it causes you to burp try storing it in the freezer or taking them right before bed.
Thanks for the great post...please keep us posted with your ongoing results!0 -
MSM cream rocks!!!! Cut a long story short, i had to have some plastic surgery on my face because I had a huge mole taken off and my teenage daughter has the worse stretch marks you can imagine: we tried all sorts of things and they didn't work. then I read about MSM cream and its bloody magical!!! In two weeks it made a huge difference on my face and now, as you can see in the picture I have no scar and my kids stretch marks are really faint now, so hardly notice. It is so natural and CHEAP. I now use it as a moisturizer too instead of my expensive french one and ITS MUCH BETTER!!!
So the MSM cream is from prairie naturals in Canada. Look on the internet and they can tell you of a mail order store in America or Canada to get it. They also send it to other countries.
By the way I have nothing to do with the company!!0 -
Keep us posted. I have 19 year old stretchmarks and a mother's apron that has never quite gone away. I suspect that the only thing I can do for it is plastic surgery but I'm not sure I'm willing to go that far. I think the combination of very thin skin, short stature, and the fact that I'm over 40 has worked against me.0

Good Luck Amanda! I'm sure it's going to worth every penny, i'm experimenting with Glycolic acid and milk ferment mix that i'm buying here in South Africa. I have bad stretch marks on my thighs and hips, and i also suffer from Keratosis Pilaris on my thighs and arms and the type i have has left me with some bad scarring. I'm too scared to wear a short sleeve shirt. I'm still in the beginning stages. Will know in a month or two. Laser and so are great alternatives, and i look forward to hearing how it went for you!0

love this post! thanks for sharing! I'll be at the drug store very soon looking for this miracle msm0

Vitamin E oil works some too, at least according to the plastic surgeon who did my facial reconstruction after a dog bite years ago. That's the only thing he recommended. You're getting it in your fish oil but it is cheaper to buy topical vitamin E oil then to buy fish oil. So for those who are on a budget, $3 at Wal-Mart in the vitamin section. Rub it on daily.0

Great Advise!!! I have ALOT of wrinkly loose skin esp in abd and upper thighs I found some Collagen cream at a Pharmacy and have been rubbing it in, but admit I am not consistent with it every day
Will do a search for this MSM Cream and maybe make a mix of Vit E oil, MSM and Collagen cream and see if I get any improvement..0 -

The only reason I wouldnt use vitamin E lotion is cause I'm already taking a multivitamin and a extra dose of E-400mg.
I read somewhere that anything over 500mg can shorten your life.
Dont know how true that is since they also say too much vitamin C can mess you up too.
But there are those taking insane doses of C with no problem so IDK how true it can be.0 -

Try it while drinking DMSO and I wouldn't combine a collagen cream since I'm thinking maybe it has extra chemicals.
Also DMSO is very cheap you can buy it by the Gal at a livestock store or online.
Yes DMSO is widely used on animals and mostly horses lol So dont be afraid if you bump into a vet store online while searching lol
Also DMSO is good for pain especially if you suffer from arthritis.0 -

Well, since I'm literally reviewing the chapter on vitamins for one of my nutrition finals on Thursday, here's some info on both E and C for you.

Vitamin C--also known as ascorbic acid (so you can see that listed as an ingredient)

You actually don't even need the Aloe or MSM - coconut oil will do it all by itself.............
The biggest thing for me is using coconut oil on the inside (eating and cooking) and using it on the outside (cleansing and moisturizing.........
And dry brushing the skin before showering.0 -

Update: May 12 2011.
Well my skin hasnt gotten any better but I'm convinced since I have stubborn bodyfat that wont seem to come off my body doesnt want to tighten the skin because of the squishy fat. It's kinda like my skin and body thinks that I'm still very fat so the skin just wont tighten because there is still that damn stubborn fat. At age 33 my body is metabolizing fat very weird and I'll get boney in one area and have fat in others. I've done a lot of reading and I'm thinking I might try HGH therapy for my body. HGH literally turns back the clock on aging and that's what I need I think. I will metabolizing my body fat much better, increase my muscle mass and a ton of other great effects.
HGH is not a steroid so let's get that clear, its a peptide and your body naturally produces it. Right now this option is looking a little better then going under the table and getting surgery.
Tomorrow I'm going to speak with my doctor about it, I know he prescribe it but its worth a try.
Most likely I'll have to look up one of those anti-aging guru's in my area.
We'll see I'll keep you posted.0
