Non-Food Gifts to say Thank You?

My boyfriend and I (dating 5 years) both live on our college campus, and we found a puppy at a nearby shelter late last year that we just could not leave there.
Luckill his parents are dog lovers and offered to take care of her for the last 5 months. We want to give them a thank you gift for doing so!
They are both trying to lose some weight, but I don't want to get them any food. Any suggestions?
Dad loves beer and grilling, is a firefighter.
Mom is a teacher that loves dogs.
they don't have much in common from what I know. They have a camping trailer though?
That's about all I know. LOL

You can get them flowers, or if it's food based a fruit basket!
Any books that might tickle their fancy?0 -
Bottle of good wine, even most who are attempting to lose weight will open one every so often on a special occasion.0

I like this idea, giving them an "event" can be a wonderful gift!0 -
If they have a camping trailer, and like camping ... maybe a gift certificate to a camping goods store.0

Thanks for the ideas everyone0

I always think about what I would like. And while your value is not food, maybe theirs is...and a gift card to a nice restaurant is always appreciated.0

What about a beautiful picnic basket that they can use when they go camping? One of the ones with plates, utensils and glasses in? I always wanted one of those. Bet they'd love that!0

Vouchers for sports stores that sell exercise gear and clothing? Pedometers, Fitbits? Not sure how much you're looking to spend but anything that helps towards their weight loss goals. Maybe even a footspa, if you're not indulging in food vices it's nice to have a pampering session0

Give them an edible arrangement, those things are great and u can customise it as you wish with cards/balloons etc + its healthy

a grandchild

flowers, a plant, an ornament, a picture frame,
