@Adam2k10 I'm still not seeing this post appear in the Recent Discussions page when someone posts here, or being bumped up in it's forum. (When I click on the forum at the top of this post General Diet and Weightloss, it isn't on the first page, where it should be based on my post above at 12:56)

Is that one of the chit chat threads? You can turn off notifications for threads you have replied to, but am not sure if you can turn off notification for an individual thread. I thought there was individual notification turn off, but can't find it.
For global notification turn off, go to notifications, then notification preferences...and untick the relevant field.
I hide the chit chat board, it eliminates a lot of posts in the recent discussions link, much cleaner

We certainly don't need the second post it was only created because of last night's (Australian time) spam onslaught - as there were well over 100 spam posts. It certainly felt seriously frustrating
