Hey, I'm a 17 year old in desperation of losing weight for the long term. I began putting on weight at around 13 and ever since I can't control my bad eating habits. I'm in love with the coco and ice cream and regularly binge on these. I'm around 5'6 and weigh 10 stone 11lbs ideally I would love to be 9 stone 7lbs without losing too much muscle. I don't want to just be skinny but have a bit of an athletic and toned build. How can I start tho and what should I eat. I tend to eat a lot of rice along with vegetables but I feel like the rice bloats me up. I only 218 calories worth of it. This issue is severely depressing me as I feel fat and unattractive especially at school. I also hate when people comment on how good I used to look especially as I was athletic and very sporty as a kid, I still am kinda I love sports and try to walk everywhere I go even school. I also run around 3-4 times a week but I don't think it's effective. I'm too embarrassed to join a gym so what exercises can I do? Also I have bat wings how can I tone them too? Thanks guys xx

Firstly friend there is nothing to be embarrassed about .. and it's normal to be depressed over the weight loss but you can end that now .. join a gym or the gym at your school what ever you want don't be self - conscious ppl like to talk so give them something to talk about when u achieve your goals .. just go to the gym and start the habit of going there this is important try to do cardio at the beginning interval training all are beneficial then you will see the results after that try to left free weights and squatting u girls like it lool .. it's hard at the beginning but with a strong well u can do .. don't cut your eating habits right away do it gradually and then you will be fine ... I hope that could help you out

If you are looking for long term change I would recommend "The Real Age Workout" by Dr. Michael Roizen. It's a four phase program to get to maximum health and then you maintain the program using all our phases. It starts with walking 30 minutes every single day for 30 days, then you add core/foundation exercises (your core is anything that connects to your pelvis, whether above or below it) every other day for 30 days in conjunction with the walking, the next 30 days you begin non-foundation exercises (strength training for all other muscles) several days a week along with walking and core exercises. The four month you begin endurance training (jogging, swimming, kayaking, biking, etc.) three days a week. After the fourth month you have a complete fitness program. It's not an iron man program and is something that most people can do to improve health. This is just a snap shot of the program. I would recommend that you buy the book to actually use this program.
