Trying to decode this forum - clarification on rules needed!

Hi everyone. There are a few things about these forums that I dont understand. Hoping someone can clarify for me. 1) what does it mean when there is a "cage" or "jail bars" covering up someone's post? 2) what does it mean when a thread shows as "closed"? Who closes it, and why? 3) are threads ever deleted completely? If so, why and by whom?
I was looking for a particular thread, and couldn't find it. Appears to have been removed. So that's where my questions came from.
Thanks!

1. it's been flagged for something
2. A moderator has closed it due one of a few reasons...in the TOS
3. Yes threads can be deleted.
All this can be found in the TOS0 -
1) They were naughty (seriously, they get warned and jailed for a time, even though they can still post, so I don't really get the point of the bars)
2) A moderator determined that the thread somehow (there are multiple reasons) violated MFP's terms of use and closed it
3) Yes a thread can be deleted if the OP asks or it's really over the top. But usually they'll just be closed.0
